I'm pretty much with the pups 24/7. If/when I run out for errands and/or pup pickups & drop-offs I usually bring the pups with me for "doggie-fun-rides". If that's not your pup's thing they can hang back at the house, but that will never be for long. If/when this scenario is preferred I can leave my pups Louie & Dolly at home, at minimum, with them so they have canine company. As your pup's parent you can let me know up front whether you think your pup would like the doggie-fun-rides or would prefer being more of a homebody. I'll accommodate accordingly.

Your pup will be in great care. They'll receive lots of one-on-one attention. The other pups I care for and my own pups enjoy engaging with each other but also are good readers of other dogs and respect their space & social preferences. Whether your pup is real social or likes to keep more low-key & to themselves, they'll find the right mix & balance here. I am "the regulator" 😉 I'm great at knowing which pups need/want what, and ensuring each gets EXACTLY what they need/want. I think that shows in my photos? 🙂

Information Dustin B. would like to know about your pet

I'd like to receive a current record of your pup’s vaccinations, including Bordatella & flu. In most cases vet offices can easily email those to petcare providers like me. I also like to ensure your pup is current with flea, tick & heartworm meds. I recommend you go with your vet's recommendations as far as brands. Please ensure you’re current with these important meds. When I’m boarding/sitting for your pup(s) you may also wish to let your vet know you’ll be away and that your baby is under my care so they can note your file. I'll always strive to keep you abreast of any health or well-being concern. Of course, if your pup needs medical care of some kind your vet & I will strive to both keep you in the loop & request you make all necessary medical care decisions. If/when by chance you are unable to be reached & a medical intervention of some kind is needed, you'll want to either give your vet authorization, up front, to implement whatever intervention they feel is best, or give them notice that I have that decision-making authorization. I ask that you provide me this health directive authorization in writing via email with both your vet & me before your longer stay, to ensure we are all on the same page. I love and care for all breeds of dogs, so no restrictions, there. The key is chemistry. I like to maintain a nice balance, temperament-wise, amongst the pups here. I've been doing this a long time & know when a pup will likely drop in smoothly or if/when there may be a concern. I normally ask for at least one trial overnight stay before accepting a sit that is longer than that. That allows us all to test one 'full cycle' out and see how everything goes.

A typical day

They'll be lots of fun time in the interesting yard. Our living room is furnished with big couches & dog beds placed adjacently on the floor which sets a good context for light indoor play & romps if/when the pups are so moved. It never gets too crazy but if/when two or a few pups feel the pull to do a little indoor 'rustling' I'm more than comfortable letting that happen AS LONG AS it's not upsetting or disturbing another pup. If/when that occurs I simply put on my pack leader hat and the indoor play stops. The KEY is keeping things balanced ⚖️ ?

Pet care experience

Hey there I'm Dustin. I love dogs and ALL animals, and have had pets, cared for them, and cared for others' pets since I was a youngin'. I host my pup-clients in a comfy, pup-centric home in Zionsville with a nice-sized yard, securely fenced with interesting things that's great for playing & exploring. I love relating with dogs & bringing out the best in them 🐶🤗🐕 I have a lot of experience as a pup-sitter/-boarder and can guarantee a happy, VERY comfortable stay for your pup. Look thru my photos and SEE all the happy mugs! 😄 As you can see, we get a good mix here. One thing to know is that the pricing on my page are ballparks. As a practice, I provide an official quote after a meet & greet, at minimum, and often require a trial overnight if/when a longer stay is your aim. This allows the pup to go thru a full 24-hr cycle of coming here, adjusting, ultimately having a great time & coming back home to you! Then when you return to drop them off for their longer stay they’re both EXCITED to be back here and CONFIDENT they’ll be returning home! After our meet & greet and, if applicable, a trial stay, my final quote will factor in your pup's size, energy-level and general care needs. Just for some context, the pricing on this page would likely match a pup 50 - 75 lbs, higher-energy with regular needs. If your pup is smaller, mid-size, lower-energy or mid-energy, such characteristics & qualities would factor into the ultimate quote I provide. The length of stay can also be a factor. Ultimately, if you truly care about the quality of your pup’s stay, if you’re like me & “NEED” to KNOW your pup is comfortable & happy while you’re away, and if you want that great, “Whew, I did the RIGHT THING!” feeling when you pick your pup up, then let’s get together for a meet & greet and see where things go. By the end of that we’ll decide whether we’re ready to book your stay or if we feel a trial overnight would be the next best step. Throughout the year I keep the number of guests relatively small. During busier boarding times of year I may have a bit more but we always keep the number & mix comfortable. It’s always about ensuring we have a good balance & vibe, and I keep that in mind as I book each pup. Whether your pup is real social & loves to run & play, or is older and/or simply more low-key, they likely will have a great experience here. I treat each guest as a visiting family member and they each/all feel that. As they do it has a unifying effect on each guest & on the pack as a whole, and everything comes together 😉🙂 The last thing I’ll say is that I have a tremendous amount of respect for each pup-parent’s relationship with their pup. I LOVE welcoming pups here to provide them a fun & comfortable haven while you’re away and EQUALLY LOVE handing them BACK to you to return to their cherished home. I’ve been doing this a while and see the great impact on a pup’s self-esteem when they transition back & forth confidently & happily between their parent(s) & caregiver. They perceive the trust that exists and feel reassurance from that, and they get that the relationship exists because of and around THEM, which isn’t a bad ego-boost! 😉 Regardless of what you decide I commend you for being on Rover investing your valuable time seeking the best-fitting care for your pup. I’m convinced that a home environment is THE BEST care environment for pups - as long as the fit is right, of course - and Rover provides the best selection of committed home-pupcare-providers. You are on the right track!

Dustin was a last minute schedule and he was great to me and my 4 dogs. He kept me up to date with plenty of photos and videos. My mind was at ease during my time away from my dogs whom I tend to worry about when they are not with me. My work trip was very busy and Dustin was always on schedule with dog updates. I never had to send reminders or wondered how my dogs were doing. I will use his services again. Thank you Dustin!

This was a long stay for our dog Tess, but since she had been with Dustin before, we knew she would do well! Her visit was a good one, and I never had one worry about her while we were away. He is a treasure!
