DO NOT BOOK HER. I booked this sitter on 5/29. There were no red flags honestly until I went to drop my cats off to her yesterday 6/13. As soon as she opened the door, I was hit with an undeniable smell of marijuana like she had been smoking all day. I did not consent to my cats being around illegal substances and having to inhale that. Regardless, I came in to set up the litter boxes for the cats because I had a flight today 6/14 and couldn’t find a replacement sitter that fast again. Of course it still smelled so strongly of marijuana inside the home. As I was setting up the litter box, I saw one dead bug and one giant bug walking on her wall and the place was dirty. Her carpets were filthy. She said she’s very OCD, I don’t believe that for a second. She was talking a lot and very fast, her demeanor was not normal at all. She gave me her personal number, and I called her on it so she could have mine too. As she was talking, I could hear dogs barking so I asked her if there were other pets there and she said YES. When I messaged her before booking, I asked if she only accepts one client at a time as my cats are afraid of other animals and she said YES she only takes one client and that’s why I booked so of course I was confused and asked why there were dogs. She said she is dog sitting some small dogs that are on the second floor in rooms. That is NOT accepting one client at a time, she blatantly lied when I asked her about that before booking. If I knew that there would be other dogs or animals there, I never would have booked her. My cats are terrified of other animals, even if they don’t see them but they can hear them and these were multiple dogs that were barking loudly. Again, my flight was 6/14 in the morning and I really had no other options. I asked what her plan is for my cats with these dogs and she said she would keep them in her brother’s room. I paid for them to be the only animals there and to have the whole house, I am paying over $60 a day for her to keep them in a room?? Absolutely not so I asked her that they be free to roam. I left her place knowing I needed to find someone else to cat sit because there was no way I was keeping them there for 10+ days so I started contacting friends as I was too nervous to go through Rover again given this terrible experience and her lying. After 1 hour of me leaving, she called me at my personal number (not through Rover) and asked if I was “one of the pet parents.” So much for taking one client at a time. I said yes and I told her I’m the cat parent and she said there’s nothing to worry about and they’re good, and that she would send me her phone number after we get off the call. Mind you she was already using her phone and had given me her number, why would she want to send it to me again?? I called her at THAT number. Like I said, she was not acting normally and I really think she was under the influence of something. She messaged me later saying that one of my cats keeps hitting the other cat and they’re both hiding either under the beds or in their carrier. They don’t act like that and are a bonded pair so it was weird they were fighting. I asked her to send pictures of the cats at night and she said she would and she had sent “all the other pet parents pictures” but that “everything is okay” then didn’t send me pictures so after 3 hours I asked for the pictures again because she said they’d been hiding all day and I was worried about them. They NEVER hide and are the friendliest cats so I knew they must’ve been scared out of their minds. When I asked again 3 hours later, she said “do I need to get up now?” I said “yes because you already said you’d send me pictures 3 hours ago.” What she sent me broke my heart. My girl cat was hiding in the closet and she looked so scared, and my boy cat was so scared hiding under the bed and in the video I could still hear those dogs barking. My cats never hide and are not scared cats normally at all. My boy’s nose also looked weird and its color was missing. I really cannot imagine she thought these would be reassuring pictures/videos. At this point, I decided I was done with her, the filthy home and carpets, and her terrible service and lies. My cats had been through enough, and this was only 12 hours later. I asked my cousin to cat sit and she said she would. My cousin went to pick them up today and she said she found my girl cat in the closet and she had peed on my clothes that I gave the sitter for comfort. She was even too scared to leave the closet when her litter box was literally right outside because she probably could smell and hear those dogs and she was so scared. My cousin also said my boy cat tried to bolt outside the door when it opened, again something he NEVER does. She also said the home was very dirty and washed their carriers and any fabric as soon as she got to her home. It’s clear that both my cats were put under immense stress and anxiety while they were there in this lady’s care, and none of this should have ever happened. If she hadn’t lied about taking only one client at a time, I would’ve never booked. She kept as many animals as she could fit in her house/rooms to make the maximum amount of money, not caring for what those animals needed. She could’ve been honest with me about having multiple animals before booking and I would’ve made the decision to just not book with her. Instead, she lied and gave me no options and I had to scramble to find someone else last minute. I feel bad for those dogs that she’s keeping in the bedrooms too, they don’t deserve to be locked up in rooms either. This woman does not care about pets at all or their wellbeing. Do NOT book with her, I have never had such a bad experience. I’ve had pets for almost 16 years and have cat sitters regularly. This woman will lie and do whatever to get your money then won’t take care of your pets and will instead keep them locked up. After I requested a cancellation and my cousin came to pick them up, she asked for my cousin’s number to be friends with her (???) and for my Facebook. My cousin was only nice to her because she was in HER home but she said her heart broke when she saw how scared my cats were. This lady clearly did not understand what was going on or cannot comprehend why I even had someone pick them up. I responded that she had lied to me, stressed me and my cats out, and I did not want her contacting me again. She proceeded to say that my girl cat was trying to attack and bite (her brother) and that she should’ve asked me to pick her up. My cats do not do that unless they’re incredibly stressed, they’re a bonded pair and always cuddle. My girl cat takes anxiety medication, I gave them both calming treats, and there were calming wall plugs for them and they were still so stressed out and anxious at this lady’s house I have no idea what happened for them to be like this. If you care even a little bit about your pets, DO NOT BOOK HER. I have no idea how she had good reviews. I made the right call removing my animals from her care. She also gave my cousin a bed that was not theirs, so she can’t even keep track of anything you give her. TERRIBLE SITTER.

This was our first time booking with Dunte. She was excellent with our Shih Tzu’s. She gave them lots of love and attention. She also paid attention to things that we requested. We will definitely be booking with her in the future.
