Happy paws and a home full of love!
Growing up with plenty of time spent in the countryside, animals have always been a big part of my life. Long walks and hikes with friends and family almost always included a dog or two, so having dogs around has always felt very natural to me. My partner and I both care for dogs, and together we offer a genuine family home environment, where dogs are welcomed as part of the family rather than simply being looked after. Our aim is for every dog to feel as though they are staying in a second home: somewhere safe, relaxed, familiar and full of companionship. There is always a dog in our home, which means visiting dogs can have the opportunity to socialise and enjoy canine companionship throughout their stay, where appropriate and depending on their personality. We also have three children aged 7–10, so our home has a lovely family atmosphere with plenty of gentle attention and interaction. At the same time, we understand that some dogs need quiet time and space, and we always respect their individual needs. One of the things we particularly love about where we live is that our back door gives us direct access to beautiful walking routes. Between my partner and me, we are regularly out walking anyway, so having another four-legged companion to join us is always a pleasure. We also believe that the best way to help a dog settle is to keep their normal routine as much as possible. Before their stay, we like to understand their usual habits — when they eat, walk and sleep, what they enjoy, how they behave around other dogs and children, and anything that helps them feel comfortable. We then do our best to follow the owner’s routine and instructions, so their stay feels as familiar and stress-free as possible. Most importantly, your dog’s wellbeing comes first. We want them to feel safe, loved, relaxed and included, whether that means going for walks and playing with our dog, spending time with the family, or simply curling up somewhere cosy for a nap. We know how reassuring it is to receive updates while you’re away, so we’re always happy to send regular photos and messages so you can see that your dog is happy and enjoying their stay. Ultimately, our goal is simple: to give your dog a loving home-from-home experience, with companionship, family life, plenty of walks, attention, playtime, cuddles — and a routine that feels as close to their own as possible.

Between my partner and me, there is almost always someone at home, so pet care fits very naturally into our daily routine. We have the flexibility to make sure dogs have plenty of company, attention and care throughout the day rather than being left alone for long periods. We’re both naturally active and regularly head out for walks, with a lovely walking route right on our doorstep. This makes morning, daytime and evening walks easy to fit around each dog’s usual routine and energy levels. When we’re at home, they’re very much part of everyday life with us — whether that means playtime, relaxing together, pottering around the house or plenty of cuddles!

Safety, trust & environment
We want every dog staying with us to feel safe, relaxed and part of the family. We have a secure, fenced back garden as well as a spacious house and annex, giving dogs plenty of room to roam around, play, relax and find a cosy spot when they want some quiet time. As we often care for more than one dog, we can only welcome dogs who are friendly and comfortable around other dogs. We also have three children who absolutely love dogs and enjoy playing and cuddling with them, so it’s essential that any dog staying with us is happy, gentle and confident around children. We’re an active household and go for a good long walk every day — as much for our exercise as the dogs’! We also tailor walks, playtime and downtime to each dog’s needs, age and energy levels. Most importantly, we treat the dogs staying with us as part of the family, with lots of attention, affection, playtime and plenty of space to feel at home.
A typical day
A typical day with us is relaxed, active and full of company. The dogs are part of our family routine from the moment we wake up, with plenty of attention, playtime and cuddles throughout the day. We usually head out for one good long walk each day, often around 40 minutes to an hour, with lovely walking routes right on our doorstep. Depending on the dog’s energy levels and routine, we’re also happy to add shorter walks and garden time throughout the day. At home, they’ll have plenty of freedom to enjoy our secure garden, house and annex, whether they fancy exploring, playing with us, following us around or simply finding a cosy spot for a snooze. Our children love getting involved too, so for dogs who enjoy attention, there’s rarely a shortage of someone wanting to play, throw a ball or offer a cuddle! We’re quite an active household, but we also appreciate that every dog is different. We’ll happily adapt the day to their usual routine and make sure there’s a good balance of exercise, play, rest and lots of affection.

- Before your dog comes to stay, we’d love to know a little about their personality, usual routine and what makes them feel most at home. As we have three children and may have other dogs staying with us, it’s really important that your dog is friendly, comfortable around other dogs and good with children. Please let us know about their feeding and walking routine, recall and lead behaviour, sleeping preferences, any medications or health needs, and anything they particularly love or dislike. We’d also like to know if they have any anxiety, guarding behaviours, triggers or habits we should be aware of. The more we know about your dog beforehand, the easier it is for us to make their stay safe, comfortable and enjoyable and help them feel like part of the family from day one.
