Hi, I’m Douglas, a former greyhound owner and lifelong dog lover based in Howwood, Renfrewshire. I offer dog boarding, day care, and walking, with a home setup especially well suited to greyhounds, lurchers, whippets, and other sighthounds - but all breeds are welcome! While I have a soft spot for long-nosed loungers, I love getting to know dogs of all kinds and will adapt care to suit your dog’s needs and temperament - whether they’re a nervous rescue, a playful youngster, or a senior in need of a quiet retreat.

Absolutely outstanding. Couldn’t have got any better for my border collie that has never stayed away from us before. Updates all day. So so pleased I found Douglas and Vicky.
Douglas & Vicky are absolutely fantastic dog boarders! One of my dogs can be quite nervous around other dogs, new people and unfamiliar environments but they really helped Mylo & Remi settle right in. They gave them lots of love and cuddles, and kept me updated with regular photos, which was really reassuring. They had a great stay and have come back very relaxed. I’d happily recommend them to anyone & I will be using them again !
So happy to have found Douglas! 14year old Ralphie was so chilled and happy after his first overnight stay. Douglas is an excellent dog sitter… very kind, caring and attentive to Ralphies’s needs…he even put up with his snoring with great patience! I really appreciated the photos and updates during his stay and Ralphie will certainly be back for another visit very soon!

This was my first time using a dog-sitting service and I was quite nervous about leaving Milo with someone new. Douglas and Vicki were absolutely wonderful and they sent loads of updates and photos every day, which really helped put me at ease while I was away. Milo had a great time, he was well cared for and definitely spoiled! I’m so grateful for their kindness and attention. Highly recommended!

I work part-time and from home, so your dog will never be left alone, and I only host one household at a time, so they will always have my full attention. I know how much trust you're putting in me to care for your dog, and I'll always ask new owners to visit before accepting a booking to make sure everyone is happy.

Note that my home and garden have been inspected by the council and I'm fully licensed and insured to provide pet care services. Here’s what your dog can expect: 🛋️ Comfy sofas, raised beds, and plenty of blankets for nesting and resting 🥣 Raised feeding bowls for those who need them 🐾 Short, gentle walks in the local park for relaxed dogs 🌿 Longer strolls through nearby fields and hills for the more energetic 📸 Daily photos and updates to help you stay connected I’m located in a peaceful village setting with access to beautiful countryside, a fully secure garden, and lots of time and love to give. If you're looking for a calm, caring environment with breed-specific experience and a personal touch, I’d love to hear from you.
A typical day
This can be anything you want it to be. Routine is so important for dogs, so please let me know what your dog's daily schedule is - feeding and eating times, when they like to play and chill, what their normal bed and wake-up times are, where they normally sleep, and so on. Don't worry about providing too much detail - my old greyhound, Louie, used to have a support manual when he went on his holidays :)
