I have 2 cats and one time Dorcas/Dorbani watched my cats for me while i was away in florida for a week. I have a male cat who is extremely shy and hides from everyone other than me and my sister. During the time that Dorcas watched my cats she was extremely patient and gave him his space enough to do things thing and get used to and comfortable with her if he chose. She made sure to be out of his way when it came to access of his essential things. she left space for him to access his litter box and made sure to stay far enough from his bowls to eat and drink other than filling it back up. Eventually through the week he got comfortable enough to approach her on his own( i remember receiving videos of him cuddling into her and purring so loudly. He even would snuggle with her through the night and whenever she was on the couch. I haven’t seen him get close to anyone else but us ever before then, it was a very precious moment for me and i appreciate her for bringing him out of his shell even for a bit.
