Donte is the best! And the dogs love being in his care!

Unfortunately, I would not book with this sitter again. While I was told Kingsley had an overall good stay, I was disappointed by the lack of communication regarding several things that occurred while he was in his care. When I picked Kingsley up, I discovered that the dog bed I provided was damaged, the interior filling had completely come apart, and one side smelled strongly of urine. None of this was communicated to me during the stay, despite me checking in multiple times and asking how Kingsley was doing. After I brought the damage to his attention, the sitter stated that Kingsley had urinated and defecated in his home and knocked over water bowls. This was also never mentioned to me during the stay. He acknowledged that he attempted to wash the bed and that it came apart in his washing machine. Had I been contacted, I could have provided the proper cleaning instructions, including removing the interior insert before washing. I was also informed after the fact that Kingsley had been given a bath. While I appreciate what may have been a well-intentioned gesture, this was not discussed with me beforehand. Kingsley has multiple allergies, so I need to know and approve what products are used on his skin and coat to avoid a potential reaction. This is something I absolutely would have expected to be communicated to me before bathing him. I also found Kingsley’s behavior at pickup concerning. He practically ran to my car as soon as we left and appeared extremely eager to leave. I cannot say what caused that reaction, but it was unusual enough for him that it stood out to me and added to my concerns about the overall stay. I requested reimbursement of $50 for the now unusable bed, but the sitter declined and directed me to Rover Support. I understand that accidents happen when caring for animals, and my concern is not simply that something went wrong. My concern is the lack of communication throughout the stay and afterward. As a pet owner, I expect to be informed about accidents, decisions to bathe my dog, and damage to belongings while my pet is in someone else’s care. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not feel comfortable booking with this sitter again.

Donte and his wife took on our 4 month old puppy and our 13 year old senior dog. They were very loving and did everything to immediately make them feel comfortable and settle in. Definitely would rebook with them.

Donte was my peace of mind for my travels - taking care of my boy Atticus & sending me videos throughout. Will most definitely be working with Donte again for daycare/ boarding. Good people !!

Leila loved Donte and his family. She was safe and well cared for. Donte answered all my questions and sent videos of her walks. Great experience.
