Pet care experience

take excellent care of your baby

Being a great pet sitter goes far beyond the basics of feeding and bathroom breaks—it’s about providing genuine care, grooming, and companionship. My heart for animals runs deep, inspired by my late 15-year-old poodle, Girly, who was a brave breast cancer survivor, and my current dog, Elmer, a retired show dog. After taking a brief hiatus from open dog sitting to focus on my own health and successfully overcome breast cancer (while continuing to serve my wonderful regular clients), I am so glad to be fully back and welcoming new families! Elmer is My Co-Worker: I consider Elmer my full-time business partner! I wouldn't feel like a good pet parent if I left him home alone to care for another dog, so I only accept house-sitting bookings where Elmer is invited to tag along. He loves every single dog he meets, is exceptionally well-trained and gentle, and makes a wonderful companion for your pets during my stays! My schedule as a school bus driver gives me a wonderful split shift with a large break in the middle of the day to drop in and pamper your fur baby. Plus, I’m typically off on weekends! I prefer staying on-site for house-sitting stays so your pet can stay comfortable at home. Overnight visits include evening and morning feedings, walks, and lots of affection. You can travel with complete peace of mind knowing your pet and home are in safe, trustworthy hands."

She took wonderful care of our cat while we were away. Reliable, communicative, and clearly attentive to the little details that matter. We came home to a happy, relaxed cat and everything just as it should be. Highly recommend.

Schedule

I currently drive as a bus driver, so I have plenty of time and love in between my routes to take care of your fur babies.

Cats
0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
41 to 100 lbs
Donna can host up to 8 drop-ins per day
To help me provide the best care, please share your pet’s daily routine, feeding and treat instructions, key/entry locations, and any medical needs or emergency contacts. It’s also helpful to know their favorite spots to sleep or hide, any triggers (like fireworks or thunder), furniture rules, and how they react to other dogs or strangers on walks. Friendly Note: I travel with my 6 lb toy poodle, Elmer, so I am only able to accept housesitting stays that welcome him as well.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
