I work for a doggie daycare and dog walking company and I walk up to 10 dogs at a time by myself in all kinds of weather. In hot weather, I bring them to shaded parks. I use healthy treats for training and every dog improves, some dramatically. My business partner and I have given sick or injured dogs wagon rides on paved bike trails to get them fresh air and socialization with their friends. At the time of this writing, between the daycare and Rover, I have worked with 80 dogs.

Safety, trust & environment
I am available to pet sit in client’s homes and walk dogs. I am an avid hiker, so I would take them for walks and runs if appropriate. I double check to ensure harnesses are adjusted properly and comfortable. I use a dog walking belt to attach leashes to, keeping my hands free to pick up after them. If another dog passes, I distract my dogs by offering treats for sitting, staying and directing attention at me. I love taking them to play in parks or the yard, and give lots of love, head scratches and belly rubs! I take time to train so they will trust me and come to me when called. I use a happy, excited voice to encourage them to walk, and a calm, gentle voice when giving them a treat so they learn to take it gently from my hand. I even learned commands in Spanish to help a dog who understands that language best. In addition, I have earned online certificates in Dog Emotion and Cognition from Duke University and Animal Behavior and Welfare from the University of Edinburgh.

Truly the best sister! She took my dogs to the park THREE times while I was gone on a one night trip. Very calming presence, I felt fully sure that my dogs were happy and safe.
Donna was a fabulous house sitter. She as extremely communicative, very thorough with how she wanted to ensure that we were comfortable with her with our pup, and sent a TON of pictures and videos clearly indicating our pup was having a great time with her. We would happily have her back ANYTIME!
This was our first time leaving Bertie with a sitter - and using River - and we could not be happier! Donna is the BESTEST! We look forward to seeing Donna again 🥰

Donna was amazing. We had her stay at our house when we had to go out of town for the night. Donna showed up on time and kept in contact with pictures and text's. She went above and beyond for our 2 poodles, who loved her. Very kind, trustworthy and caring.

Schedule
I am currently working full time on weekdays, but I’m available on weekends for dog walking, house sitting and drop-in visits. Dog walking is included with house sitting.
