Pet care experience
My husband Roland and I board small dogs weighing up to 15 lbs in our home for periods of up to 2 weeks. We raised miniature poodles years ago and love dogs. There are no children, teens, or pets in our home. When you come for a Meet & Greet with your dog, we can confirm that your dog is a good fit for us and you can confirm that we are a good fit for you and your pet. We usually board only one dog at a time and limit stays to 2 weeks but make exceptions in some situations. We wouldn't board a 2nd dog without your approval. We occasionally do offer DAY CARE for single days, but not multiple consecutive days. Dogs are allowed to sleep with us if that is what they are accustomed to at home. While we no longer have dogs of our own we find boarding the perfect way to still have dogs in our lives and home while providing a much needed service for pet owners who'd rather leave their dog in a loving home than in a kennel. We have a clean spacious country home less than 5 minutes from an animal hospital and 5 miles east of Rt. 95. I work part time at home and between myself and husband Roland, we are able to provide loads of TLC for your dog. Your pet will get as many potty breaks "on leash" as needed. If your dog sleeps with you....she/he can also sleep with us. You can be far away without a worry in the world knowing that your pet is in safe and caring hands. We can keep you updated via text or phone if you like. Note: our winter rate is slightly higher Nov. to the end of March.
Reviews
Donna and her husband took excellent care of my dog. They were great with updates and pictures, and I could tell she was happy and well cared for.
Donna and Roland took great care of Maisy, giving her lots of love and attention, especially since this was her first time with them. They even let her sleep with them ❤️ Maisy will definitely be back!
I looked many hours for the right family to leave our Westie, Piper, with during a trip to Europe. When I met Donna and Roland at their home in Newbury, I felt so good about their experienced background with dogs. They advertised that they would allow a small dog to sleep in their bed which is what Piper is use to so this was another perk for Piper. Their home is very dog friendly and I loved the way they decorated it, inside and outside. Piper needed some extra meds while we were away and they followed all the instructions for her. When we picked her up, she was very relaxed and we knew she had a good vacation away from home. (Previously, we had people stay with her at our home.) She got to visit with another dog and a cat that lives with Donna and Roland, walked places that she had never walked before with Roland and was lovingly cared for by them. It was so good to see her so happy and content when we arrived to take her home. We will continue to book with Donna from now on and are so grateful for people like them who love her as we do. A+ to a wonderful care-free experience !!!
Donna and Roland were fantastic. I think Lulu was a little sad to go home.

We have a dog friendly home. We live on a country road. Though we don't have a fenced area we take dogs out on leash for potty walks several times a day.

I need to know a lot about your dog....but all of that is taken care of when a dog owner fills out my printed questionnaire about eating, sleeping, special quirks, energy level, etc. etc. That completed form gets hung on the refrigerator where we can refer to it the whole time your pup is with us.
A typical day
If your dog requires long walks or runs, we might not be the right fit for you, but we find that small dogs have more than enough room to run around in our house. We also take dogs on short walks weather permitting. We play fetch and tug of war in the house with them so do bring a few toys if they like that.

I work at home and my husband is home as well. We don't leave a dog alone for more than 4 hours and dogs are never off leash outside the home.
