My daily routine is built around staying active and being outdoors. I dedicate my mid-morning and lunch hours specifically to dog walking and drop-in visits. Because I don't host pets in my own home, my full attention is on your pet during our scheduled time. I thrive on providing structured exercise and can easily adapt to your pet's preferred walking routes and energy levels to ensure they get the midday break they need.

Safety, trust & environment

During 30 or 60-minute drop-in visits, I focus on high-quality engagement, including interactive play, backyard potty breaks, and refreshing food and water. For walks, I follow your preferred neighborhood routes to ensure your dog gets the specific exercise and mental stimulation they need. After every visit, I’ll send a Rover Card with photos and a detailed update so you know exactly how they’re doing.

Information Donald H. would like to know about your pet

1. Safety & Household Logistics The "Escape Artist" Status: Does the pet try to bolt out the front door or dig under the fence? Entry Instructions: Specifics on garage codes, hidden keys, or finicky locks. Off-Limits Areas: Are there certain rooms the pet isn't allowed in, or furniture they should stay off of? 2. Behavioral Triggers Leash Manners: How do they react to seeing other dogs, squirrels, or bicycles during walks? Fear Factors: Are they afraid of thunder, vacuum cleaners, or specific loud noises? Resource Guarding: Do they get protective over food, treats, or specific toys? 3. Health & Routine Medication Details: Exact dosages, timing, and the "best way" to administer them (e.g., hidden in peanut butter). Feeding Schedule: Specific measurements and if they have any food allergies or sensitivities. Bathroom Signals: How do they tell you they need to go out? (A bell, a paw, or just a look?) 4. Emergency Contacts Vet Info: The name and location of their preferred vet and the nearest 24-hour emergency clinic. Local Contact: A neighbor or friend nearby who has a spare key in case of an emergency.

A typical day

A Typical Day Morning (7:00 AM – 9:00 AM): I start the day with a morning walk to get the pet's energy out, followed by a fresh breakfast and water. Midday (11:00 AM – 2:00 PM): This is for a midday potty break, a shorter walk, or a play session to break up the day. Evening (5:00 PM – 8:00 PM): I provide dinner per your instructions, another evening stroll, and plenty of cuddle time to help them wind down. Overnight (If House Sitting): For overnight stays, I remain in your home to provide constant companionship and ensure your home stays secure while you're away. Fun Activities for Your Pets Scent Games: I love setting up "find the treat" games using cardboard boxes or hiding snacks around the yard to provide mental stimulation. Interactive Play: We'll engage in games of fetch, tug-of-war, or hide-and-seek with their favorite toys. Brain Games: I can introduce puzzle toys or work on simple command training (like sit or stay) to keep their minds sharp. Outdoor Adventures: For active dogs, I'm happy to go on longer nature hikes or explore new walking trails to provide fresh sights and smells. Relaxation: For more mellow pets, I enjoy watching TV together while providing soothing pets and attention.

Pet care experience

What sets me apart is my commitment to one-on-one attention. Unlike boarding facilities where care is divided among many animals, I focus exclusively on your pet in the environment where they feel safest. I excel at maintaining their exact routine to minimize stress and prevent the anxiety that often comes with travel or unfamiliar settings. I prioritize safety and household security. Beyond caring for your pet, I provide an extra layer of home security by being a regular presence while you're away. I am diligent about double-checking locks, gates, and following all 'house rules' strictly to ensure both your pet and your property are respected and secure.

Donald did a great job taking care of Brodie. He followed all of the instructions I provided and made sure everything was done just the way I asked. I appreciated the updates and photos, it gave me peace of mind while I was at work. I would recommend Donald and would be happy to book with him again.

Great caregiver who gave both of my pups special attention. Took them both on walks each day and hung out with them for an hour at minimum each day
