We work flexible hours from our desks at home and love to have an excuse to get up and out. Jen and I have a house right on the promenade, making beach/prom walks very easy. We are situated on a stretch of coast that allows dogs on the beach year-round and there is nothing I enjoy more than chucking a ball, stick or frisbee for a dog. If you are looking to board a cat, then you would make Jen very happy indeed - and we have plenty of space to keep them separate.

While the majority of the front and back yards are currently unsecured there is a securable lower yard for a pet that likes fresh air between walks. I'm happy to run dogs on the beach without a lead after some recall practice, or just to wander with them on the lead if that is your preference. During the last four years we've looked after elderly dogs and cats, and animals that needed medication. We've looked after both large dogs and boisterous puppies.

Please let me know about your dog's routine and behaviours. We're very flexible in our schedule and will try to accommodate their needs, whatever they may be. It's crucial to let us know if your pet has never spent time away from you before - we'd highly recommend trying a day/night or two before an extended board, whether with us or with friends/family.
A typical day
Beach! Beach! Beach! For the dogs that enjoy it, whether on lead or off it, the promenade and the rocks offer a wealth of smells for a dog that likes to sniff everything. Once you get down on to beach, then there's bags of room to zoom about and often other dogs to play with.

Pet care experience
We moved into Morecambe in 2022 and have just spent our second summer looking after pets by the seaside. With the beach so close, it's easy to get outside for regular toilet breaks, walks and ball-chasing! For the animals that prefer grass, there are green areas very close too, so it's very easy to cater for every need. My partner and I have spent the four years before coming to Morecambe moving around the country (when allowed) house and pet-sitting full time, (mainly cats and dogs, although there was a one-eyed ferret). While we love pets we don't currently have any, so we don't need to worry about personality clashes.

Jen house sat for my two spaniels for the day during a family event and I could not recommend her enough! From the initial contact, to making the final arrangements, Jen’s communication was faultless. On the day, Jen kept me updated with pictures and messages to let me know how they were and what they were up to which was very reassuring. Jen has a calm and caring influence which was perfect for my needy spaniels who suffer with separation anxiety. I’ve never seen them so settled with anyone new, she really took great care of them. Honestly, I was so worried about the day and how they would be, but Jen was a perfect match and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone, she was fantastic 😊
Amazing people! Don & Jen took my 3 dogs for nearly 2 weeks at such short notice. They did an amazing job and I could tell my dogs were taken care of from start to finish. I will definitely use them again for my brood. Thank you!
