I am an academic and work from home, which allows me the flexibility to devote plenty of time and attention to your dog during the week. From Monday to Friday, I can adapt walks, play, and feeding times around your pet’s routine. The only exceptions are when I need to travel for work or visit family in Spain for holidays.

We live in a comfortable two-bedroom flat with a spacious living room and a balcony. Our home provides a safe environment for pets to feel at ease. Just a short walk away are lovely green spaces such as Hilly Fields, Brockley Cemetery, and Ladywell Fields perfect for long walks and some outdoor playtime. I take safety and trust seriously: I’ll follow your instructions carefully, keep to your dog’s routine, and send regular updates with photos so you can feel reassured while you’re away. Whether in my home or yours, my priority is to create a warm, secure, and caring environment where your dog feels happy and loved.

It would be good to know a few things in advance based on what I'd want people to have known about my own dogs in the past. For example, in terms of daily routine, it's important to know feeding times, walk schedule, and toilet cues. Also regarding temperament (likes/dislikes, reactivity or triggers - others dogs, bikes, cats, noises, etc.). Good to know also anything regarding training such as cues they know, house rules, recall reliability, and lead manners. And of course any health issues, medications, allergies, etc.
Ein typischer Tag
I love to keep dogs stimulated physically and mentally. If it's the first time we meet, we’ll start with a relaxed sniffy walk to take in all the new smells around the neighbourhood, followed by playtime. Later we’ll explore the parks near my house for a longer walk and of course enjoy calm downtime. I tailor activities to your dog’s age, energy, and preferences so they come home happy and settled. It is important to mention that on weekdays I’m working, so I typically do walks about every four hours with play and enrichment in between, but I may not be able to provide constant stimulation. On weekends I’m more flexible and can offer longer outings.

Dogs have been a part of my life since childhood. My very first dog joined our family when I was 8 years old in Spain and she became like a sister to me, being a single child myself. We spent 14 wonderful years together. Since then, I’ve continued caring for dogs in both London and Brighton, looking after friends’ pets ranging from small to medium breeds such as greyhounds, whippets, Brussels griffons, lurchers, and more. I’m comfortable with energetic puppies who need patience and playtime, as well as older dogs who may require gentler handling or extra care. Because of my personal and hands-on experience, I know how important it is to provide affection, consistency, and a safe environment that makes each dog feel secure and loved. What sets me apart is my commitment to treating every dog as if they were my own giving them not just the basics of feeding and walking, but also companionship and care tailored to their needs.

Eva was well looked after by Diego. She was on fed on time and was given regular wee and poo breaks. We also received regular photos throughout the day. She came back happy and I would definitely recommend Diego to look after your pet.
Diego did an excellent job caring for my Staffy for the day, she had lots of play and walks and was settled and happy when she came home. He is communicative, conscientious and thoughtful, I would definitely book him again.
Diego was absolutely amazing with our rescue dachshund, Truffle. He was patient, attentive, and clearly understood her needs, which gave us total peace of mind. Truffle adored him, and we came home to a very happy, relaxed dog. We couldn’t recommend Diego more highly!
