I'm from a dairy farm in rural Ireland and grew up with dogs. I got my own first dog in 2019; a rescue from the Korean dog meat trade! Given his background, he was incredibly traumatized but with a lot of love and care became a much happier dog. I also adopted a senior husky (see profile pic) with arthritis issues who I cared for for five years until he sadly passed away. I have also fostered dogs from time to time. I have lots of experience with nervous, reactionary, and senior dogs and I am well-versed in specialized care and giving medication.

This is the second time my pups have stayed with Diarmuid. I feel at peace knowing that they are in a safe place and being cared for when I’m away. Diarmuid is very responsive and was willing and able to accommodate one of my pets unexpected medical needs. I hope to use Diarmuid again in the future.
This was our second time having Diarmuid care for our Shiba Inu for an extended stay, and once again he took excellent care of him. It was clear from the photos that our dog was happy, comfortable, and truly at home. We especially appreciated how much Diarmuid understood and enjoyed our dog’s unique personality and playfulness, just like we do. He gave us real peace of mind knowing our dog was safe, well cared for, and happy. We highly recommend him.

Schedule
I am most available to take care of pets on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. I am open to longer requests also but am more likely to have conflicts on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Safety, trust & environment
I live on the sixth floor of a 10-unit building with an elevator; no stairs need to be climbed for senior dogs. All breeds and sizes of dogs are allowed. I live near Prospect Park and the dog beach if you allow your dogs to visit dog parks, otherwise I enjoy taking dogs for long walks through the neighborhood and parks.
A typical day
We'll go for long walks around the neighborhood and parks, play with toys, work on commands, and check out the local dog park (with your permission).
