Dianne exceeded my expectations. This was my first time using Rover, and I was apprehensive about leaving my dog with strangers. However, I decided to try it because my dog, Saffron, has been extremely stressed out when I've left her at her usual boarding facility. My worries were quickly put to ease when I met her and Judi during our Meet & Greet session, and again when I brought Saffron to their home yesterday. Right away, Saffron made herself queen of their domain, and I could tell she felt comfortable with them. I had no concerns about leaving her with them overnight. Dianne kept me updated on Saffron throughout the evening, sending both pictures and video, as well as text updates. Saffron enjoyed lots of walks, snuggling with them on the couch, and cuddling at night. When they say one of them is home 24/7, they mean it. They accommodated her small size and advanced age by placing foam stairs at their sofas and bed so she could whiz up and down. When I picked her up today, while she was happy to see me, she also continued to snuggle with them and prance around their home even while I was there. I could tell she bonded with them. I will bring her again soon for a week-long visit and have zero qualms about them watching Saffron again. Even though we had to make a long trek from our home to theirs (over an hour due to construction), it was worth it. I'd drive three hours each way to bring Saffron to them. This is so much better suited for her than boarding her in a kennel. She truly thrived in their care and was fully doted on.

Dianne and Judy took exceptional care of our dog, Koda. They truly treat her like family—more like beloved aunts than pet sitters. Koda has stayed with them about six times over the past two years, and every visit has been wonderful. They provide multiple walks throughout the day, along with plenty of individual attention, love, and affection. It’s clear how much they genuinely care about her well-being and happiness. During her most recent stay, Koda’s birthday fell while she was with them, and they went above and beyond—celebrating with custom dog treats, a party hat, and balloons. It meant so much to us to know she was so loved and celebrated even while we were away. We highly recommend Dianne and Judy to anyone looking for caring, attentive, and trustworthy pet sitters.

Dianne and Judi are absolutely the best pet sitters anyone could hope for! Skylar once again very much enjoyed staying with them and was so well cared for. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

The “aunties” were so incredibly loving and kind with our goldendoodle, Murphy. He had so much fun! They sent pictures so I could see he was in good hands. They took time to explain their routines and I appreciated that they only care for one dog at a time. I could tell they genuinely loved my dog!

I was extremely happy with the care my dog received. I would highly recommend Dianne and Judy as they provided daily updates and pictures. It was obvious my dog was relaxed and happy in their care. I will definitely be using them for my next vacation.

ABOUT ME: I’ve spent my lifetime around animals. I grew up on a small farm with dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, geese, horses, and more. My family raised large dogs like German Shepherds, Irish Setters, and a Black Lab—all friendly and well-trained. My childhood was filled with adventures in nature, building hay forts, and catching frogs and fireflies. Fast forward 50 years, and I had my own small farm with chickens, turkeys, ducks, and beloved Cairn Terriers. For 33 years, we cared for three Cairn Terriers, including two littermates who brought us endless joy. Our last dog, who lived to be 16½ years old, passed away in June 2022, leaving us heartbroken and yearning for that connection with other dogs.

A typical day

A typical day starts with a short walk for potty time and breakfast, followed by affection throughout the day and another walk in the afternoon. In the evening, we enjoy cuddling with them on the couch, and after dinner, we usually go for a longer walk (up to 2 miles) and another quick walk before bedtime. Since we live in an apartment, all potty breaks are walks of varying lengths, depending on the weather, the dog’s energy and ours, and how well the dog behaves on a leash. Some dogs enjoy 2-3 longer walks (up to 2 miles each), while most get 2-3 walks about 1 mile each and brief potty outings in between. During an extended stay, we also brush them periodically, give them a little peanut butter treat, share popcorn with them on the couch (both, if allowed), and may brush their teeth, if safe to do so at no additional cost.

Let me know if your dog has any special needs or sensitivities I should be aware of including triggers like: other dogs, squirrels, people, bunnies, fireworks, children, or cars. Also, let me know if your dog tends to get into things they shouldn’t—like eating socks, counter surfing, or getting into the garbage. Yes, you’ll need to “tell on them” so we can create a safer environment and ensure their stay is as comfortable as possible. We typically prefer small to mid-size dogs but are happy to care for well-behaved large dogs too. All dogs must be fully potty trained to go outside—no piddle pads, please. Unfortunately, we can’t accept aggressive or poorly behaved dogs. It’s also worth repeating that dogs who bark excessively aren’t a good fit, as we live in an apartment. We love taking dogs for walks and enjoy it just as much as they do! To ensure everyone’s safety and well-being, we require your dog(s) to be up-to-date on vaccinations, including Bordetella, distemper, parvo, and rabies. A Meet and Greet is required before accepting any new bookings. This benefits everyone involved and helps ensure a good fit. For transparency, Rover retains 20%+ of the listed fees, and sitters receive up to 80%. Rover also provides a $25,000.00 pet insurance for all bookings through their app—see their site for details. Our community is full of dogs, so if your dog enjoys being around other dogs, they’ll fit right in. If not, we’re happy to adjust and avoid other dogs during walks which is what we usually do anyway. We also have a great pet stroller for small dogs who enjoy being outside but may not be able to walk long distances. (You can see it in some of the photos provided.) For little dogs who love cuddling on the couch, we’ve got cushioned steps to make it easy for them to climb up and down. Rest assured, we’ll dote on and protect your dogs as if they were our own. Here’s a referral from a client who we know outside of Rover and cared for her dog in her home. “We can't praise Dianne and Judi enough for their astounding care and attention to our little dog, Millie! We have had them come to our home to watch both Millie and the house on several occasions for our extended vacations and found them to be one of THE most dependable, honest, trustworthy, and caring individuals we have ever had the pleasure of knowing! (In fact, the house was in better condition when we returned than when we left.) Dianne’s background in nursing and caregiving was a true Godsend when we had to leave MIllie the day after she had a fairly severe accident here with us, wounding her front paw. Dianne treated her wound numerous times per day resulting in Millie “kissing” her repeatedly as to say “thank you” and ultimately, healed her injury. She also sent us daily updated photos of Millie, reassuring us of MIllie’s well being. We were always kept so well informed and current – which reflects Dianne’s compassion and awareness of the importance that Millie carries for us in our lives.  I would absolutely, without even the slightest hesitaton, recommend Dianne as the BEST possible care giver for any furry family member – even to the extent that we truly do not plan our vacation times until we can verify that she will be available.”
