Responsible and Reliable Pet-lover

Hello! My name is Diane! I recently moved to Crown Heights (near PLG) and would love to watch and care for your pets! I would describe myself to be a very reliable person who shares a great love for all animals. I’ve had different types of pets (dogs, bunnies, turtles) since I was younger, volunteered at shelters and nature centers, and have always taken a great interest in the pets of my close friends and family. I’ve had experience with a wide range of my friends dogs and cats and am confident in my ability to take care of them as I have often watched after them while they were away. I would love to help take care of your pets in any way possible!

Dex just had his first stay with Diane and she was great with him. I loved how easy it was to accommodate my last minute booking (due to my last minute trip). First we had a FT where Diane asked questions and I gave a quick rundown about my pup, how he is, what he likes, his feeding schedule etc. The day I dropped him off and he seemed to like her right the way. He also seemed pretty happy on all photos she sent me (updates I was receiving once or twice per day). :) Pickup went seamlessly as well. Thank you!

Miso had a great time with Diane! Diane is super communicative and kind, and I deeply appreciate her patience and understanding when he was anxious the first day I left him. Loved that she sent regular updates and super cute photos. Tbh, I was really nervous to leave him away from me, as he has only been away from our apartment once in the two years we’ve moved to NYC. I had nothing to worry about as he was super relaxed and happy when I picked him up! She was receptive to all of my tips about him and unique things he liked (like being sung to, lmao). Miso will definitely be seeing Diane again!!

Kunta had another great stay with Diane! She does such an awesome job with giving him his medications and is in tune with his needs as a small senior dog. She sent me many cute pictures of him and kept me updated on how he was doing.

Safety, trust & environment

I believe the most important thing to consider is gaining the trust of the pet owner and asking various questions about the temperament and personality of each pet! Depending on the pet, I find it’s important to adapt my approach to engaging with them to ensure it’s a safe environment for both sides.

A typical day

The activities will depend on each pet and my conversation with the owner prior to visiting them! Ex) if they are a high energy dog and needs exercise then I will take them to a nearby park (if the owner is comfortable) or if it’s a cat I will ask if it’s comfortable with strangers and which toys are the cat’s favorite! :)

Cats
0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
Dogs over 1 year old
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Takes only 1 client at a time
Diane can host up to 1 pet per night
I would like to know the temperament of the dog/cat and what their needs are the day of and if the dog has any type of environment triggers Ex) doesn’t like skateboards or scared of scooters etc., to ensure I watch out for anything that may disturb them!
