I have our own vehicles, work from home. I always prefer to do meet and greets beforehand - on the rare occasion I am ok with written instructions.

Information Diane H. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your cat has been aggressive in the past. While we both can read cats pretty well, this is good to know incase we need to be aware before we walk into the home.
A typical day
The first thing I do when I arrive is provide the cat with their scheduled meal and fresh water. While the cat is eating I then make sure to refresh the litterbox. After the cat is done eating I try to instigate play or have them sit beside me for some pets, it really depends on how comfortable the cat is feeling and if the cat prefers to sleep during the visit, that is more than okay too :)

Pet care experience
Hi 👋🏻 I’m Diane! I grew up with 3 dogs and 3 cats. I have pet sit many cats over the past years and medium to large size dogs the last year. I love cats and I currently have 2 cats of my own :) When I first meet a cat I let them walk over to me out first. I do not force a greeting until they come to me. Even when they do approach me I let them sniff first and wait until they initiate that they want a pet. I’m a quiet person so I find pets are pretty relaxed around me. I have been around cats my whole life that it’s easy for me to acknowledge when they are stressed out. I like to provide them with fresh water 2x a day and clean the litter box once a day. I know a happy litter box equals a happy cat! Of course, I love cat snuggles but if they like their space then I will let them be. I started pet sitting in 2017 because I couldn’t have a pet of my own at the time. Though a few years ago I was able to adopt my own cat Melvin :) and a few years after that I adopted Nona. I still loved caring for others so I continued to pet sit.

Reviews

Diane was lovely! My kitties were calm and happy when I arrived home, which is how I know they felt safe with her. She was very communicative and diligent.

Diane was so accommodating and professional when I booked with her to do drop in visits with my cat! I often struggle with finding sitters that understand the social/behavioural needs of a cat, but she made me (and Al! 🐈⬛) feel very well taken care of with a pre-booking meet and greet visit and frequent check ins with lots of lovely photos :)
Diane was fantastic! I appreciated the meet and greet, her continuous updates while I was away, and how responsive she was to my questions.
First time using Rover and was impressed and happy with Diane. Professional, kind, and understanding. She seems to really know cat behaviour. Communicated great. Felt comfortable leaving our two cats with her. Would book her again.
