Eat, Play, Woof!
We're back! After a long hiatus, we are now booking with new clients! A quick note before you read on: I currently welcome female dogs only for boarding and daycare. This is a firm household policy, so I’m not able to make exceptions. It is also a super chill environment and at the moment, I am only able to take dogs that are comfortable with just hanging out all day (aside from morning and evening walks). Thank you so much for understanding! I’ve been caring for dogs through Rover since 2022 and have welcomed more than 400 dogs into my home. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of caring for dogs of many different breeds, ages, sizes, energy levels, and personalities. That experience has taught me a lot about canine body language, routines, group dynamics, and how differently dogs can respond to a new environment. Some settle in right away, while others need a little extra time, reassurance, or personal space. I enjoy getting to know each dog as an individual and helping her feel comfortable here. My goal is to provide a relaxed, loving home where your dog can feel safe, cared for, and part of the household while you’re away.

Schedule
I work from home as a VFX animator for film and television, which means I’m home with the dogs for most of the day. They get lots of company, attention, potty breaks, and opportunities to relax nearby while I work. Because I do need to concentrate and join meetings during the day, my home is best suited to dogs who are generally able to settle and relax indoors. Of course, all dogs bark from time to time and that’s completely normal. I just can’t accommodate dogs who tend to bark frequently or for long stretches throughout the day. Working from home gives me the flexibility to be present with the dogs while keeping a calm and predictable daily routine.

After caring for hundreds of dogs, I’ve learned that a happy stay starts with making sure we’re a good fit for one another. Every new dog must complete a proper meet-and-greet and vetting process before I accept a booking. This gives me a chance to get to know your dog in person, learn more about her personality and routine, and make sure she’ll be comfortable in my home and with the type of care I provide. I pay close attention to body language, behavior, routines, and how each dog responds during the meet-and-greet. I also appreciate owners being open about anything that will help me understand their dog, including fears, anxiety, triggers, guarding, reactivity, escape tendencies, or other behavioral concerns. The meet-and-greet is important for everyone involved. I want you to feel comfortable leaving your dog with me, and I want to be confident that I can provide her with a safe, happy, and relaxed stay. For outdoor adventures, safety always comes first. Guest dogs are only allowed off leash with their owner’s permission, if they have reliable recall, and in an appropriate off-leash area.

A typical day
We usually start the day with a morning walk, followed by breakfast and some quiet time while I begin work. During the day, the dogs stay with me at home and have regular potty breaks, attention, playtime, naps, and plenty of opportunities to hang out nearby while I work. In the evening, we usually head out for another adventure. Depending on the weather and the dogs staying with me, that might be a neighborhood walk, trails, the beach, or an off-leash run for dogs who are comfortable and suitable for it. Then it’s home for dinner, relaxing, and a quiet evening. I like my boarding dogs to have a nice balance of companionship, exercise, outdoor adventures, routine, and plenty of downtime. Activities are always adjusted to suit each dog’s age, energy level, personality, and physical abilities.

Helpful things to share include: • Her usual feeding and potty schedule • Her energy level and exercise routine • How she feels about other dogs • Her leash manners and recall • Where and how she normally sleeps • Any medications or health needs • Any fears, anxiety, triggers, or reactivity • Any food, toy, or resource guarding • Whether she has a tendency to escape or door-dash • Her usual barking habits and what tends to trigger her Because I work from home, barking is one thing that is especially helpful for me to know about. Occasional barking is completely expected, but dogs who bark persistently at noises, people outside, other dogs, or throughout much of the day are unfortunately not the best fit for my home. And just as a friendly reminder, I welcome female dogs only for boarding and daycare, and I’m unable to make exceptions to that household policy. No dog needs to be perfect. I simply appreciate open communication so we can make sure we’re a good fit for one another and your dog can have a happy, comfortable stay. 🐾
