I've had pets all my life, from dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, hamsters, fish, and even at one time horses. I have never NOT had a pet. In fact, I lived in Belize for a few years and took my cat. Very shortly after moving down there, I found the sweetest puppy. When I decided to move back to the U.S., I couldn't bring him on the plane, so I had to buy a vehicle to drive 3 days thru Mexico because I wasn't about to leave him behind. Currently, we have 1 dog, 1 cat, and a fish tank. Sometimes I think these animals are more spoiled than us. I've taken care of puppies and kittens by hand feeding them with bottles and also caring for senior cats and dogs by carrying them when they really couldn't walk any more or helping them up. We do have a 6 yr old daughter that loves animals and loves to play dress up or tea party with our fur babies. There will be plenty of hugs and playtime to go around. Whether they are high energy and need constant stimulation or low key and just like to chill all day, we can handle it. Both my husband and I work from home, so attention won't be a problem. Taking walks will be a frequent thing as well, if they are up for it. We have a fenced yard and even part of the backyard that can be separated from my dog if, if needed. We also have another room that can be dedicated for your animal if they are more skittish or stressed out. I know cats can get stressed very quickly. We pick up after our own dog quite frequently in the backyard and spend time back there often.
