Your Dog's Home Away From Home

I'm an experienced pet parent to Kris, a 7 year old 22 lb terrier mix who loves calm canine company. I regularly care for my sister's two senior dogs and have experience with a 16 year old Maltese; so senior dog care, medication schedules, and slower paced needs are second nature to me. Kris gets along beautifully with dogs his size or smaller, making this the perfect low key, loving environment for dogs who prefer a relaxed hang over a rowdy playdate. Your dog will be treated like one of the family.

My two elderly pups (both 12) have loved being cared for by Devon for years. She takes them for walks at their own respective paces and dotes on them during their stays during the day and overnight. Full, crazy tail wags when I tell them they are going to Devon’s place for puppy sitting! Highly recommend!

Calendar and availability

Schedule

Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine because I'm home all day, every day. Dogs in my care are never left alone or crated; they have constant company and attention. I take walks every few hours and easily flex the schedule based on your dog's individual needs and preferences. You can drop off knowing your pup is in a calm, attentive home with someone who is always present.

Safety, trust & environment

My home is a large, open-plan apartment with plenty of space to move around and play; indoor fetch is a regular occurrence! Just steps from my front door is a fenced dog park where pups can run and socialize off-leash, and I'm lucky to be right next door to the YMCA which has a large shaded yard; perfect for hot days when pavement walks aren't comfortable. Inside, dogs are welcome on the furniture and have access to cozy dog beds, warm blankets, plush toys, Nyla bones, and bouncy balls. It's a fully stocked, dog friendly space where your pup can feel completely at home from the moment they arrive.

Pets

A typical day

Every day starts with a morning walk around the building to get the day going. From there we head to the fenced dog park right outside my door or the YMCA lawn next door for some grass time; a favorite part of the day for most pups! On cooler days we'll take a longer stroll through the NoDa neighborhood, one of Charlotte's most walkable and dog-friendly areas. Back inside, there's plenty of room for indoor fetch and lounging in a cozy, calm environment. Every day is relaxed, active, and tailored to your dog's energy and comfort level.

To make sure your pup feels comfortable and settled, it's helpful to know about any medical conditions or medications, feeding schedules and dietary needs, and any behavioral quirks or triggers; especially around other dogs or strangers. Since my dog Kris is friendly but on the calmer side, this home is best suited for small to medium sized dogs (under 30 lbs) who are easy-going or low-to-medium energy. High energy or highly reactive dogs may not be the best fit, and that's okay; I want every stay to be a great experience for your dog and mine. The more you share upfront, the better I can make their stay!
