With 10+ years of hands-on clinical veterinary experience, combined with a lifetime of growing up around, caring for, and working with animals, I bring 20+ years of cumulative experience in veterinary medicine, pet care, and animal husbandry. My experience with animals began long before my professional veterinary career and includes dogs, cats, pigs, chickens, cows, horses, and many other animals. This lifelong connection has given me a deep understanding of animal behavior, care, handling, and well-being that extends far beyond the clinical setting. Throughout my veterinary career, I have consistently pursued continuing education through seminars, conferences, specialized training, and additional coursework to continually expand my knowledge and strengthen my clinical skill set. I have maintained **BLS and ALS CPR certification since 2020** and have been **Fear Free Certified since 2018**, along with holding numerous additional certifications, continuing education achievements, and awards earned throughout my career. I am currently in the process of getting my veterinary technician license transfer to Ohio. The majority of my professional veterinary experience has been concentrated in **surgery, emergency medicine, and intensive care/ICU**, where attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to recognize subtle changes in a patient's condition are essential. These experiences have taught me to be highly observant and proactive, with a strong understanding of early warning signs and indicators that may suggest a patient is developing a problem. I take pride in being attentive to the small details that can make a significant difference in an animal's outcome. Pets are my passion, and pet people are my people. I genuinely enjoy building relationships with both animals and their families and believe exceptional veterinary care should be built on compassion, communication, trust, and a little fun along the way. Whether I am caring for a critically ill patient, assisting with surgery, supporting a nervous pet, or simply making an animal's day a little better, I bring the same level of dedication and enthusiasm to every patient. I am comfortable and experienced in caring for patients across a wide range of ages, conditions, and levels of acuity. My clinical experience includes the safe administration and management of oral, injectable, and topical medications, as well as monitoring patients receiving ongoing or complex treatment plans. I am comfortable working with advanced and late-stage disease, chronic and complex medical conditions, hospice and end-of-life care, geriatric patients, pediatrics, neonates, and emergency cases. My background in surgery, emergency medicine, and ICU/critical care has strengthened my ability to remain calm and attentive in high-pressure situations while recognizing subtle changes in a patient's condition and responding appropriately. I understand that each patient requires an individualized approach, and I am committed to providing compassionate, thorough, and attentive care whether a patient is recovering from surgery, managing a chronic illness, beginning life as a neonate, facing an emergency, or approaching the end of life. I am equally comfortable providing hands-on nursing care, assisting with treatment plans, communicating observations to the veterinary team, educating and supporting pet parents, and advocating for the patient's comfort and overall quality of life.

Schedule
I recently relocated to Ohio and currently work at a local veterinary emergency and specialty hospital. My schedule is flexible, which gives me the opportunity to continue doing what I love outside of the hospital through at-home pet care. Caring for animals has always been a significant part of my life, and providing individualized care in a home environment allows me to continue that passion while giving pet owners peace of mind when they cannot be there themselves. My veterinary career has also allowed me to build a large and trusted professional network of veterinarians, veterinary technicians, assistants, and hospital staff whom I know, respect, and have worked alongside throughout the years. Veterinary medicine is a surprisingly small community—I've even had the experience of reconnecting with a veterinarian I worked with nearly eight years ago in another state, only to find that we now work at the same hospital in Ohio. These longstanding professional relationships are something I value tremendously and reflect the connections and reputation I have built throughout my career. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. When I'm not at the hospital, I enjoy having the opportunity to provide reliable, attentive, and personalized care to pets in their own homes. My clinical background also allows me to recognize when something may be outside the scope of routine pet sitting and may require veterinary attention. Ultimately, I want every pet in my care to feel safe, comfortable, loved, and well cared for—and I want their owners to have complete confidence that their pets are in good hands.

I approach every pet as an individual and tailor my care to their specific personality, routine, medical needs, and comfort level. Whether I am caring for a pet in my own home or in a client's home, my priority is always to provide a **safe, calm, consistent, and loving environment** that feels as close to their normal routine as possible. I am comfortable caring for pets with a wide range of needs, including puppies and kittens, seniors, anxious or fearful pets, medically complex patients, and animals requiring medications or additional monitoring. I can administer **oral, injectable, and topical medications**, follow detailed feeding and treatment instructions, monitor changes in behavior or condition, and recognize when something may warrant veterinary attention. My background in emergency, critical care, ICU, and surgery has made me particularly attentive to subtle changes that may indicate a problem. When caring for pets in a client's home, I respect that I am also caring for someone's home and follow their instructions closely. I maintain established feeding, medication, exercise, potty, sleep, and enrichment routines whenever possible. I provide regular updates and photos so owners know how their pets are doing and can feel connected while they are away. When caring for pets in my own home, I focus on creating a secure and comfortable environment while considering each animal's temperament, energy level, social preferences, and individual needs. I believe pets shouldn't simply be "watched" while their owners are away—they should receive attention, companionship, enrichment, affection, and quality care. Ultimately, my goal is simple: I want your pets to feel safe, loved, and comfortable, and I want you to have complete peace of mind knowing they are in capable and compassionate hands.

A typical day
A typical day with the pets in my care is centered around **keeping them happy, comfortable, engaged, and as close to their normal routine as possible**. Every pet is different, so I tailor activities to their personality, age, energy level, and preferences. Some pets are ready to go the second I walk through the door, while others would much rather curl up beside you and enjoy some quiet companionship—and I am perfectly happy with both! Depending on the pet and the services requested, our day might include **walks, playtime, fetch, tug-of-war, puzzle toys, enrichment activities, training refreshers, outdoor time, sniffing adventures, and plenty of attention and cuddles**. For cats, that might mean interactive toys, wand play, treat puzzles, window watching, brushing, or simply sitting nearby and letting them set the pace. For dogs, I enjoy incorporating walks, games, mental stimulation, and plenty of opportunities to explore their environment safely. I also believe that **mental enrichment is just as important as physical exercise**. Sometimes the most fun activity is something as simple as allowing a dog extra time to sniff and explore, working on basic commands for treats, or creating a little enrichment game to keep their mind busy. For senior pets, puppies, kittens, medically fragile animals, or pets with mobility limitations, activities are adjusted to their abilities and comfort level. A successful day doesn't necessarily mean wearing a pet out—it means giving them the **right kind of stimulation, companionship, and care for who they are**. And, of course, there will be plenty of **belly rubs, ear scratches, cuddles, praise, and photos** along the way. My goal is for your pets to have so much fun and receive so much attention that they may wonder when you're coming back!

- ### Important to Know About Your Pet Ahead of Time The more I know about your pet before their stay or visit, the better I can tailor their care to their individual needs and make the experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible. I appreciate knowing about their **daily routine, personality, likes and dislikes, feeding schedule, exercise needs, medications, medical history, allergies, and any special care instructions**. I also want to know about any behavioral considerations, including anxiety, fear, reactivity, resource guarding, separation anxiety, or anything else that may affect how your pet interacts with people, other animals, or their environment. There is absolutely **no judgment**—knowing these things ahead of time simply allows me to prepare appropriately and keep everyone safe and comfortable. For pets with medical needs, please provide detailed information about **medications, dosages, administration schedules, ongoing medical conditions, mobility limitations, dietary restrictions, recent procedures, or other concerns**. With my veterinary background, I am comfortable providing many types of routine medical care and monitoring, but having accurate information and clear instructions is essential. I also appreciate knowing what makes your pet feel most at home. Are they a couch potato who wants to snuggle? A high-energy adventurer who needs lots of activity? A nervous pup who needs time to warm up? A senior who prefers a quiet environment? A cat who believes affection should be provided strictly on their terms? **Tell me everything!** My goal is to maintain as much of your pet's normal routine as possible while providing the extra attention, enrichment, companionship, and care they need. The better I understand your pet before I care for them, the better I can help them feel **safe, happy, comfortable, and loved while you're away.**
