Trusted and Loving Animal Care
hiii, I’m Devin! (I’m new to Rover) I have (ongoing) experience volunteering at multiple humane societies, volunteering at an animal sanctuary, pet sitting, and I’m going into a Veterinary Technician program next year! I spend lots of my time caring for, playing with and loving animals with different personalities, needs, and comfort levels. Patience, consistency, and making animals feel safe and comfortable is very important. Volunteering and spending my time with animals reinforces how important it is to meet the needs of every specific individual animal. Im comfortable following specialized care and medical instructions carefully and paying close attention to changes in behaviour or needs. I’ve given prescribed medication to animals in many ways, many times so I’m 100% okay and accommodating to special care animals. I’m especially good with shy, anxious, or sensitive animals and try to create a calm, low-stress environment for them. I read, watch and learn lots about animals everyday. I have many certifications around animals as well; like the ‘Fear Free’ certification for example. What sets me apart is my experience and also that I genuinely care about animals as individuals and that I take the time to understand their individual personalities, routines, and boundaries rather than treating care as “just a job”. This is something I’m very passionate about.

When caring for pets, I focus on keeping their routine as consistent, comfortable, and low-stress as possible. In a client’s home, I respect the pet’s normal schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, medication, bathroom breaks, and rest so they can feel secure in their familiar environment. I pay close attention to behavior, body language, and energy levels to make sure pets are comfortable and getting the care they need. I’m patient with shy or anxious animals and make sure they have space, attention, and calm interaction at their own pace. Safety and cleanliness are also important to me, and I make sure pets have a secure environment, fresh water, and plenty of attention and companionship while their owner is away.

During a recent stay with Devin, Wendel was very well cared for. Devin was incredibly communicative throughout the stay, sending lots of photos and regular updates, which gave me great peace of mind. It was clear Wendel was having a fantastic time—they went on plenty of walks and hikes, spent lots of time outdoors enjoying the sunshine, and Wendel looked happy and relaxed in every update. I wouldn't hesitate to book with Devin again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter.

I’d definitely recommend Devin for any animal care. From the beginning, he was great with communication and made sure everything was clear before starting. He’s very compassionate, patient, loving, and it’s clear that he genuinely cares about the animals in his care. Devin was very helpful and sent lots of updates and photos throughout the process, which made me feel very reassured the whole time. He goes above and beyond to make sure the animals are comfortable, happy, and getting the attention they need. He’s someone I am comfortable trusting with animals and I really appreciate the amount of care and effort he puts in. I’d recommend him to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, reliable, caring, and truly passionate about animals.
Devin is very wonderful with animals. I have 2 cats and Devin has watched them many times when I have been out. Hes great and he makes the whole experience stress free. Devin is friendly, responsive, and clearly love animals. I felt comfortable leaving my pet with them and would absolutely use his help again. Thanks Devin!

Schedule
Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and being attentive to their needs. I’m able to dedicate time throughout the day for walks, feeding, playtime, check-ins, medication if needed, and making sure pets feel comfortable and cared for. I’m someone who pays close attention to routines and details, so I understand the importance of consistency for animals. Whether a pet is energetic and playful or more shy and relaxed, I’m patient and adapt to what helps them feel safest and happiest.
