Hi, I'm Des and I’m so excited to meet you and your furry (or scaley/feathery) family members! I’ve had the opportunity to work as a zookeeper at an AZA accredited zoo, where I trained a variety of animals using positive reinforcement techniques. This gave me a lot of insight into animal behavior, and the skills to handle pets of all kinds. I’m comfortable working with just about any animal you can think of. I’ve also worked as a veterinary assistant at an animal hospital where I assisted with medical procedures and cared for recovering animals. This role provided me with quick thinking skills in emergency situations and further developed my passion for the well-being of all animals. I was previously certified in canine/feline CPR and First Aid as well. Over the years I’ve adopted guinea pigs, cats, dogs, and rats of my own. I've worked as a professional dog walker and sitter previously in Denver, CO. I recently went back to school to study biology and hope to continue my career working with animals. Your pets will receive all the love, attention, and care they deserve from me while you’re away!

I love walking pups and have experience with reactive dogs. Building confidence through positive reinforcement to provide a better experience to the dogs in my care brings me a lot of joy.

Destiny was awesome watching our 3 cats while we were away. This was our first time using the Rover app and Destiny was perfect. She provided pictures and a short description after each visit giving us updates and piece of mind that our cats were safe while we were away.

Des is hands down the best sitter we’ve ever worked with. This is our fourth or fifth time booking her, and at this point she’s our go-to without question. She takes incredible care of Minnie and is so attentive to the little things that make a difference. You can tell Minnie genuinely loves her, which says everything. Her updates are consistently thoughtful, detailed, and actually enjoyable to read, which makes being away so much easier. I never have to wonder how things are going. Des is reliable, communicative, and clearly cares about the animals she looks after. We feel very lucky to have found her and will absolutely keep booking with her.

I'm a full time online student and work part time. I have a pretty flexible schedule currently and want to fill it with lots of animal time.
