I work full-time during the week, with one day each week working from home, which gives me extra flexibility to spend time with pets throughout the day. On my in-office days, I have a one-hour lunch break that allows me to stop by for potty breaks, feedings, walks, or check-ins if needed. Before and after work, I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, exercise, and care, and I'm fully available during evenings, weekends, and holidays. I carefully plan my schedule so every pet receives reliable, consistent care. Whether it's daily dog walks, overnight stays, or caring for livestock, I'm committed to keeping your animals safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away.

I strive to keep every pet's routine as consistent as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. In a client's home, I follow their feeding, exercise, medication, and care instructions closely while making sure pets receive plenty of attention, playtime, and affection. I also provide regular updates and photos so owners know their pets are happy and well cared for. I'm respectful of my clients' homes, keeping everything clean, secure, and just as they left it. If caring for pets in my home, they will have a safe, clean, and comfortable environment with plenty of supervision, exercise, and enrichment. I make sure each pet has fresh water, a consistent feeding schedule, and lots of love and attention. With my background in Animal Science and experience caring for dogs, livestock, and other animals, I'm confident handling pets with different personalities, energy levels, and care needs while always prioritizing their safety and well-being.

A typical day
I love keeping pets active, engaged, and happy! With dogs, I enjoy going on walks, hiking local trails, playing fetch, tug-of-war, and spending time outdoors exploring. My own dog loves adventures, so I'm used to making exercise and play a fun part of the day. I also enjoy trips to dog-friendly parks, practicing basic commands with positive reinforcement, playing with puzzle toys, and, of course, giving plenty of belly rubs and cuddle time. Every pet has a different personality, so I tailor activities to their energy level and preferences, whether that's an active hike, a game in the backyard, or simply relaxing together on the couch.

I have a bachelor's degree in Animal Science, which has given me a strong foundation in animal health, behavior, nutrition, and proper care. In addition to caring for dogs, I have extensive experience working with livestock, including cattle and horses, so I'm comfortable handling animals of all sizes and temperaments. I'm patient, dependable, and attentive to each animal's individual needs, whether that means providing exercise and enrichment for an energetic dog or giving extra care to a senior pet. I'm also comfortable following detailed feeding schedules, administering oral medications, monitoring for signs of illness or injury, and communicating regularly with owners to provide updates. My goal is to provide safe, reliable, and compassionate care so you can feel confident your animals are in good hands while you're away.

Destanee came to my location to meet my fur baby in advance, and she understood the “Velcro” nature of her, and assured me all would be fine. She arranged pick-up with a third party without requiring my assistance (which was great because I was somewhere remote at the time). Thanks, Destanee!
Destanee did a fantastic job! She requested to meet us and the dogs before taking the booking which we really appreciated! It was good to meet her face to face and It was really important to her that she had a good connection with the dogs before accepting the booking. She was consistent in communication and sending us daily photos of the dogs throughout the booking. She left our home in a clean condition as well. We will absolutely book with Destanee again!
Destanee dog/chicken/house sat for us for almost 3 weeks and she did a fantastic job. Dogs were super happy and well cared for and the house was clean and as we left it. The chicken coop was nice and clean and they were all still there! We’d recommend Destanee as she clearly cares a lot about animals and is very respectful and responsible.
