Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I already structure my schedule around school and part-time work, which makes me reliable and consistent with time management. I am available for early morning walks which works well before I start my day with classes and responsibilities for my teaching credential program. I also have consistent availability for afternoon and evening walks, once my schoolwork and part-time job shifts are completed. Because I’m used to balancing school, work, and structured commitments, I’m very dependable with routines, feeding schedules, and walk times. I prioritize communication and make sure pets get consistent care, attention, and exercise during the times I commit to.

I primarily offer pet sitting and dog walking services, and I do not provide pet care in my own home. All care is provided in the client’s home or during scheduled walks. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize safety, routine, and maintaining the pet’s normal environment to help reduce stress while their owner is away. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding schedules, walks, medication (if needed), and household rules. I make sure doors, gates, and leashes are always secured before and after walks, and I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior to ensure they are comfortable and safe at all times. I also keep the home clean and respected, leaving everything as I found it. Trust and communication are very important to me, so I provide regular updates and photos so owners always know how their pet is doing.

Before caring for a pet, it’s important for me to know as much as possible so I can keep them safe, comfortable, and on their normal routine. I like to be informed about any feeding schedule, dietary restrictions, allergies, or medications ahead of time. It’s also helpful to know their daily routine, walk habits, energy level, and temperament (for example if they are shy, reactive, or very social). I also ask about any behavioral notes such as leash reactivity, separation anxiety, or triggers so I can handle situations appropriately and safely. For cats, it helps to know their preferred play style and comfort level with new people. Additionally, I appreciate knowing emergency contacts, vet information, and any household rules so I can make sure the pet stays safe and the home is respected. My goal is to make sure every pet feels secure, understood, and well cared for while their owner is away.
A typical day
With the pets I watch, I focus on activities that match their energy level, personality, and routine so they stay happy, comfortable, and engaged. For dogs, I enjoy going on structured walks where they can get exercise, sniff, and explore safely. If the dog is more active, I’ll include extra time for play like fetch or light running in a safe area. For calmer pets, I focus on slower-paced walks and plenty of attention and comfort. I also love taking my clients dogs to the beach. For cats, I engage them with interactive play such as wand toys or gentle games that keep them mentally stimulated, along with plenty of companionship and care so they feel relaxed and not lonely. Overall, I aim to make sure pets feel safe, loved, and entertained while still keeping their normal routine as consistent as possible.
