I’ve been caring for friends’ and family members’ pets for years, and it’s always felt like second nature. Whether it’s walking, feeding, or just keeping them company, I genuinely enjoy being around animals. Pets tend to warm up to me quickly, and it’s always a great feeling when they get excited to see me again. I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all ages — from playful puppies to senior pets — including those with medical conditions that require daily medication or special attention. I’m physically active and spend a lot of time at the park, which makes it easy to incorporate fun and exercise into the pets’ routines. My goal is always to make them feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away.

I follow whatever routine the pet is used to — feeding, walks, playtime, and any special instructions from the owner. Whether I’m in my home or theirs, I try to make the pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.

Derrick is great with dogs and cats from what I have seen. My personal experience was him taking care of my pup Rufus, when he was as about 8 months at the time. I was out of town for two weeks. He asked for detailed instructions and even went as far as doing research on the needs for Rufus’ breed (Shiba Inu). Rufus was walked daily and taken to the dog park a couple of times. Derrick also stayed in my home and kept everything spotless. Would highly recommend Derrick to take care of your furry friend for a walk, dog sitting, or boarding.
I feel so safe leaving my guy with Derrick. He is always in a great mood when I pick him up and gets so excited when I drop him off. Love that I can tell he loves animals as much as me!!

Schedule
Pet care fits into my daily or weekly routine pretty naturally. I usually plan around feeding times, walks, and any special instructions the owner gives me. Even though I started doing it to earn extra money, I’ve actually come to enjoy the time I spend with the pets. It gives me a break from my own routine and adds some structure to my day. Plus, it’s rewarding to know the animals are happy and being well cared for
