Senior & Special-Needs Dog Care

I care for three dogs of my own, ages 7, 8, and 9, each with a very different personality and set of needs. My hands-on experience includes senior mobility support, diaper changes, crate routines, food guarding prevention, safe separation, and patient care for anxious, reactive, or strong-willed dogs. One of my dogs has had special needs since birth, so I understand how much consistency, observation, and a calm approach matter. I follow detailed instructions closely and treat every pet as an individual.

I begin by learning each pet’s routine, triggers, body language, and handling preferences. I keep doors, barriers, harnesses, leashes, crates, and feeding areas exactly as instructed, separate pets when needed, and avoid forcing interactions. I’m comfortable with shy, reactive, territorial, senior, and special-needs dogs, including diaper care and mobility assistance. I keep the environment tidy, communicate clearly, and share updates so you know how your pet is doing.

Schedule

Pet care is already part of my daily routine, and because I work from home, I have maximum flexibility to accommodate each pet’s needs. I’m accustomed to scheduled morning, afternoon, and evening walks, feeding and digestion windows, diaper changes, crate routines, cleanup, enrichment, and quiet time. For client pets, I follow their established schedule as closely as possible and plan my day carefully so their care stays consistent, attentive, and dependable.
