My experience
I have a lifelong passion for animals and hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats. I received a Labrador for my 11th birthday and was responsible for helping with daily care, including feeding, walking, grooming, and providing companionship. I currently have a rescue Border Collie who can be anxious and nervous in certain situations. Through patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, I have helped him gain confidence and feel more comfortable in his environment. This experience has taught me how to understand animal behaviour, recognise signs of stress, and adapt my approach to meet an individual animal’s needs. I am confident handling dogs of different temperaments and understand the importance of safety, exercise, routine, and providing a calm and caring environment. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and take pride in ensuring they are happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I also grew up with a cat who we sadly put down in 2014 due to health issues. However this gave my experience about learning about cats. Last year our family decided to get another cat in June. I got a gorgeous 12 week old kitten who was quite the handful.This also gave me the experience with working and dealing with young cats who can be quite difficult at times.

Safety, trust & environment
The safety, wellbeing, and comfort of pets are always my top priorities. In a pet owner’s home, I would carefully follow any instructions provided regarding feeding, exercise, medication, routines, and house rules to ensure pets experience as little disruption as possible. I understand that many animals are most comfortable in their familiar environment, so I aim to keep their routine consistent while providing plenty of attention, play, and companionship. Having experience with a rescue Border Collie who can be anxious, I understand the importance of patience, reading animal body language, and creating a calm environment. I am attentive to pets’ individual needs and would never put them in situations that could cause unnecessary stress or discomfort. I also take home and pet security seriously, ensuring doors, gates, and windows are secure and that pets are supervised appropriately. Whether caring for dogs, cats, or other pets, I strive to provide a safe, reliable, and loving experience so owners can feel confident that their pets are in good hands.

Schedule
Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine as I already help care for my own pets. I am used to feeding, exercising, and spending time with animals every day, as well as making sure they are comfortable and have everything they need. Caring for pets is something I genuinely enjoy, so I am happy to plan my schedule around their needs. My routine is flexible, and I am available for pet visits, walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship throughout the week. I understand the importance of consistency for animals and would always ensure they receive reliable, attentive care while their owners are away.
