Fast response, text or call, we have 30 year of experience, training and boarding all types of dogs big and small, we just hired coyote scoop .they clean our yard 2 times a month ,disinfectant is applied to the concrete it’s pet friendly and pet friendly flee spray of yard.they remove poop ,hair ,they leave the yard spotless .they use only pet friendly cleaners this cuts down the chance of the dogs getting dirty or sick from a dirty yard.the scrub and clean the outdoor feeding areas .we send of pictures and updates daily when we have your dogs.we would love the chance to take care of your dogs.your dog will receive the love they have at home.walks or runs.your dog will sleep and spend its time in the home.rotating in the yard and home .with a loving family, and friendly pets like our service dog Otto. We will tell yall about our journey with dogs as trainers ,and as boarders .we have been full time with rover for 9 years.over a thousand dogs have stayed with us from 1 night to boarding owners pets for multiple years in some cases. otto is a very special member of our family.Otto is a medium sized pure German shepherd.he also makes a great pet companion to all visiting dogs when he’s not acting as a working dog.Otto is always offering love,guidance & compassion to new dogs we sit.especially rover dogs with separation anxiety .puppies,and dogs that never have been away from there families. we rescued Otto from the animal shelter.originally we where going to train him as a service dog to donate Otto to a disabled veteran ,or disabled individual.we like to give back when we can .donating 30 years of training experience in the highest levels of dog training .we began training after a long mentorship with Dave Delissuegs renowned Hollywood trainer & ,police/military trainer .one of the world’s best schutzhund sports trainers.we learned the ability to train almost any type of working dogs . in the beginning we trained our Rottweiler Franz to compete in schutzhund competitions! The German sport encompasses (3 phases) obedience/bite work & protection/and human tracking.after Franz died we transferred from the field of protection to the training of service dogs.in conjunction with boarding for rover more recently .still offering training in basic obedience .we started in the Bay Area. now in Monterey county.we still Donate our time, and experience to train service dogs for needy disabled veterans & folks that can’t afford the highly expensive task of training a service-dog,we train ,and donate a rescued dog about every 3 to 4 years.we select a disabled veteran or a disabled individual.its very informal .to develop a true service dog can take between 1.5 & 2 years to train a certified service dog, depending on what an individual needs.we train for just about all disabilities,the only type we Don’t do is for visually impaired,it takes a very specific and special dog. with an average cost between 13,000$ and 20,000$ per individual service dog .depending on what tasks its needed to do for its handler .most disabled folks don’t posses the time ,ability,finances,and or expertise it takes to train a legitimate service dog . .these special dogs we have usually rescued, and trained for others at no cost . We typically don’t train service dogs for profit.its a long stressful commitment.service dogs highly increase the quality of life .it can exponentially make life much better for there new owners/handler. Otto is 5&1/2 years old.working day in and out.he’s released from work to help rover dogs whenever time permits.Otto has built a very special bond with in our family.not only does he work ,he’s become the leader of all the dogs we have ,and care for.we also have a small, mini bichon frise /poodle mix .very sassy ,and independent .at the time we got Otto 4 years ago .we needed a younger new service dog for the family . our last one ,Remmy passed.maybe 6.5 years ago.Otto was the perfect dog at the right time so we decided to keep Otto midway through his training.otto is actually a specific working dog.hes a psychiatric /medical alert/mobilty trained service animal.it took us over 1.5 years to train him ,he requires refreshed training to keep sharp,and to learn new commands! Otto knows over 100 commands ,words ,and scenarios.Otto is a great companion & Service dog,for the purpose of rover he is a role model, and companion to visiting rover dogs when he’s not acting in his job as a service dog.he accompanies us during meet and greets.likes walking,he lives to fetch and return.he’s now a highly trained medical alert /:psychiatric service dog,he’s been cross trained as a mobility service dog . Ottos been trained in advanced of leash obedience,hes trained extensively & specially to alert to medical issues.to give comfort and assistance for specific medical scenarios. He’s also trained to assist handicapped & disabled owner/handler.ottos also trained as an agility competitor,we have a reasonably advanced agility course in our large yard.for rover dogs with extended stays I’ll often teach them some agility and a few obedience commands.ive helped potty train and crate train rover dogs as a hobby to help a rover sitter .we have plenty of outside play, and potty time.our experience with rover has been a great time.we have the chance to learn about all kinds of breeds , and personalities.we have a medium sized house with 4 rooms.one room large room is dedicated to the rover dogs.we have extra large crates,if your dog is crate trained.if not we have extra indoor/outdoor dog beds in the dogs room and outside. we have a large couch that they can chill out on.summer we have air conditioning for the rover dogs.in the winter we have heating.we have a large yard, with large new lawn area.with plenty of shade,fresh water inside and outside.we feed all dogs separately.we use outdoor kennels to help feed.we also use the indoor crates to help feed.crates are mainly used for sleeping.if your pup is a grazer /slow eater .we will give as much time as they need to eat there meals.its super common that dogs we board don’t eat as much here ,as at home.usually after a few days the dogs return to eating like they would at home.we have been with rover now for 9 years.we have private customers too,we still do mostly basic obedience training professionally .at any given time we may be doing board/&train jobs. typically 4/6 week training programs.we are currently in school to become certified as trainers.rover started offering dog trainers.its growing .when we get our certification we will be advertising with rovers training programs.as of now Salinas has no certified rover trainers in Salinas .we will graduate in about 6 weeks.read our reviews , please .check out the repeat customers.we are very affordable.depending on the situation we can help with a discounted nightly rate.We give discounts to military retired,or active duty .all forms of ems ,law enforcement ,fire,emt, paramedics,,now new since Covid anyone in the healthcare industry,no matter if your taking care of patients ,it also applies to administrators as well.we just started giving discounts to education related jobs, our family has people in all these field's, and we know first hand the value of all these jobs. Please book as early as you can during holidays.the major ones,the 3 day weekends.we are always busier on the weekends.especially for our repeat customers .we try to make ourselves available whenever they need us.at any given time besides rover dogs we will also be doing advanced training,basic obedience/crate training /potty training Other rover jobs consist of ,doggy day care.housesitting,drop in visits,and on holidays all we do is boarding! please let me know if you can’t afford us and I’ll try and work with you the best I can.holidays I can’t do much on discounts. holidays are always very busy so please reach out as soon as you can so we can help. We found it was better for both us ,and you owners .for instance more walks ,play time,etc,all around it’s just better to have a smaller and safer pack.the only time we may charge more is if you need a pick and drop off , Or your dog needs special care for reasons such as medical conditions. .since We train dogs ,We offer one free training course .a one hour course for your dog or dogs ,if you book with us any service.it’s worth 125$ ii can really help your dog and you out with just one lesson. .we have great references about 399 reviews .many repeat customers over 125 $our agility course is open to work out the dogs and there energy , your pets will be safe and cared for with the best care.we go on daily walks with all the dogs.we are stay at home parent so We would be home all day .except for short periods .if I’m not here someone will be here to watch your dog.i might be gone to care for and walk other dogs..dogs are always in a safe environment.some special dogs prefer to sleep with us by our bed .we do take non crate trained dogs.we take all types of dogs from puppies to adult.all sizes and tempermants .we are an upstanding citizen never been in any trouble.we have experience with all types of animals.our house and yard are very clean.our dogs and rover dogs are screened very carefully .somone will be with your dog 24/7.your dogs will have access to our whole house,.most dogs have access to the whole house. We rotate the dogs in and out of the house.for potty and play and inside to relax.We watch the dogs in a fenced area ,in our living room We always watch the dogs that are outside .if your dog prefers to be alone .We can sometimes accommodate that.we can take the dogs for bathroom breaks in the middle of the night .our kids are involved, they help with all the animals.our son walks the dogs daily.i believe we are one of the more reasonably expensed sitters on the site.your dog will be part of our pack and treated with great care.our 30 years of experience as a dog handlers allows us to accommodate all types of dogs. We screen for shots, flee treatment and temperament.we do ask your dog be flee treated before you bring them and bathed before you bring them.if you like the results you can hire us for training.we don’t need any documentation . We do ask to have a tight collar or harnesses.please have your dogs tags on a strong ring holder, as they play. I have had dogs that lost there tags from playing.it’s hard to find them.regularly we give dogs care and brush them at no charge..for stays over a week .especially for long stays .if you have any questions or comments please contact us .we are happy to work with you .wether it is a special accommodation a price reduction..we are very flexible with drop off and pick ups for an extra charge I will drop off and pick up your dog.you can pretty much come any time for pickups late or early if it’s to late I ask you book an extra night ,and if you want to come drop your dog off before 7/7:30 I ask you drop your dog off the night before I will usually give you that night for free.unless we work something out.i do get up early in some cases to recieve dogs.i have dogs that come as early as 4 am ,and picked up as late as 3 am..we do ask if you pick your dog up after 12 am at night. you pay for an extra day .we do ask if you are happy with your stay if you could leave a review ,that helps us out a lot .thank you .delia ,Gabriel &loren!
