I have both professional and personal dog care experience While I was growing up, there was always at least one animal in our house. I also have experience training puppies for an organization called Custom Canines Service Dog Academy (CCSDA), out of Madison, WI. With CCSDA, I raised two golden retrievers, one who went on to become a total access service dog for a veteran and her family. Training includes a lot of socialization and bringing the dogs everywhere to get them used to being out in public and working amidst distractions as well as obedience and special skills training. I most recently worked in Ely, Minnesota at a sled dog yard. Responsibilities included feeding dogs, handling the dogs, basic doggie first aid check-ups after each run and more while managing the working dogs. I have learned a lot about animal behavior through those experiences, and I am very comfortable around all types of dogs.
