Pet care experience

Your new favorite family farm!

Greetings fellow pet parents! It is my joy and labor of love to be the local dog shepherd of North Chittenden. For any questions or future calendar availability, you are welcome to message me. Our accommodations offer your furry family member(s) a rejuvenating doggie mountain retreat. You can rest assured that all of the furry companions who have stayed with us have thoroughly enjoyed the moments they spend here! They are all treated as additional members of our family during their stay and have a glorious bounty fit for adventuring right outside our doors which we certainly enjoy together! Regular boarders must meet our 3️⃣ Furry Herd requirements (see below) although rare exceptions may apply for visitors and special circumstances. I hope you appreciate the included phodography (📸) of your dog's time here while you're away! N. Chittenden/Pittsford, Vermont location features: ✅25’ fenced in play area (in back yard) with under ground fencing ✅ 35' shed-to-tree dog lead/line with extension leash attachments (in side-back yard) ✅ roughly nine acres of beautiful, dog-friendly land right off the property with natural water sources for plenty of outdoor exploration, play and exercise. (More details below) ✅ back up solar power indoors ensuring your pup remains comfortable in case of storms, fans, and air conditioning/heating throughout ✅ 2000 square feet of indoor doggie play space across levels ✅ extra dog beds, food/water bowls, maze-food bowls, balls/toys, treats, and bones (unless bone aggressive dogs are present) ✅ extra standard and retractable leashes for controlled walks ✅ multiple indoor sleeping area options to suit all personality types (including private sleeping rooms in the rare case of incompatibility with any potential other boarders, but this is why I have requirements below starting with the dog being known as dog-friendly. Although we welcome nearly all personality types and have experience even with very fearful dogs, we do have rules now to maintain peace and safety in the pack. And we are grateful to have this spacious environment which has every option to suit your pet(s) comfort level during their stay here. I also accept dog bookings according to their compatibility with dogs already booked here to maintain cohesiveness among the pack. Unless your dog is crate trained/training, this is a no-kennel environment. However, you are more than welcome to bring your crate or request one of our options for your dog who may prefer the hidden sanctuary vibe or is already crate-trained/in training: we have one XL metal dog crate and one 4'x4' open top pen 28"T with door and we'd be happy to set either up at your request. _________________________________ As promised: THE 3️⃣ REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL NEW DOGS: 1.) Friendly with other dogs *including exhibiting no leash-aggression 2.) Off leash call back (at least with you/owner, as we can work with them one-on-one during our initial time together) 3.) Can sit on command amidst excitement Exceptions may apply for one-time or weekend dogs visiting from out of state. These three skills (while the latter may seem trivial) are the foundation to mitigate uncontrollable behaviorisms and/or habits. Our established Furry Herd must meet these requirements in order for us both to prevent the spread of poor habits acquired by other dogs and to maintain cohesiveness, order, peace, and happy hearts in the pack. ➡️If you're uncertain if your dog can meet these three requirements with a stranger (🙋‍♀️/🙋‍♂️), no worries, my husband and I are happy to offer one to three initial/trial day care sessions and from observation and compatibility assessment during daycare, we will have the ability to confirm whether or not your dog(s) are accepted to the established Furry Herd for continued daycares and/or boarding. Thank you for understanding as we work to provide safe spaces for our compatible crew.🐾

Deirdre was great! She watched Bode over the weekend for us and he seems to have had an amazing time. She sent plenty of pictures every day. Bode even made some new friends. Will definitely be back again!

Deirdre has a wonderful setting and sent pictures of my pup while she was staying there as well as providing a training assessment as this was my dog's first time away from home. My pup came home happy and slept the whole way home, I could tell she had a great time.

Deirdre was great. This was my first time leaving my pup with someone, and she sent frequent updates with photos. Will definitely be booking with her again.

Our little dogs just love staying with Dee, which is saying a lot for two rescue dogs who have separation anxiety. She is great to work with and very responsive. We hope to book with her again in February.

I highly recommend Deirdre! Our dog, Riley, had so much fun going for walks and playing with other dogs, he didn't want to leave. We received updates and pictures 😊. This was also a last minute booking and Deirdre responded quickly. Thank you Deirdre!

Schedule

I am grateful to be in the position where I can shepherd the furry herd at all times of day. I am very observant and present with the pups, they are like children to me and their comfort and safety are of the upmost importance to everyone here at our family farm. Depending on your dogs' individual needs, our furry guests with higher energy can expect at least four hours of daily intentional human play and exercise such as outdoor exploration and fetch with me. We balance our adventuring and walks with proper hydration, plenty of treats, indoor rest periods, feeding (separated from other dogs), organic peanut butter stuffed toys, fun squeakers, and lots of love.

Safety, trust & environment

I will observe your baby's/babies' energy after they arrive, their comfort levels, initial trust level with us, preferences of where they want to hang out etc. so that we may properly adjust according to ensure they're feeling happy and healthy at all times. Frequent daily outdoor exploration and play is a given and we certainly take advantage of our three personal acres for exploration along with the six or so more acres of doggie-approved neighborhood land; fit for exercising pets located right off of our property. This communal land includes wooded areas, a clean pond, stream leading down to the base of our property, and various types of terrain for fetch and exploration (all well tucked away from the only "busy" road, Middle road, which we ensure dogs do not know about during their stay - we direct their attention to their safe zones in our community.) *While we are outside exploring the land (unless in the fenced play area), your dogs will be under our leash control (unless both approved with you and if your dog has proven themself obedient to commands with us in the pen.) Whatever your needs are, rest assured your pets will be excited by their visit here and will come home to you from our farm safe, happy, well exercised, rested and rejuvenated. We love getting to know all the dogs who pass through these lands and hope to show you in the evidence of joy in your furry family member(s) once they come home from a stay here. _________________________________ We are located in North Chittenden: 15 min. from Mountain Top Inn & Resort 25 min. from downtown Rutland 25 min. from Killington (30 min. from Killington Resort) 45 min. from Woodstock 25 min. from Brandon 40 min. from Middlebury 90 min. from Burlington ***TICK COLLAR OR OTHER TICK PREVENTION HIGHLY RECCOMENDED***
