Slàinte- I’m Dee, I was raised with dogs and they have always been part of my family fabric. My husband and I recently moved to Alexandria from Great Britain (an Irish/ English military family). Before moving we regularly looked after my in-laws spaniels for prolonged periods of time. We both grew up with dogs and I had a rescue dog after college. During the pandemic I volunteered with a charity to foster and walk dogs for vulnerable individuals. This gave me experience with different breeds and sizes. We loved having these dogs in our home. I aim to ensure that your precious dog fits into our family and that everyone is comfortable and stress free. I will send lots of photos, videos and communicate swiftly so you can relax when away. I will only host one dog (or dogs from the same family) at a time to ensure I can provide my full attention. Belly rubs are given freely and generously!

Schedule
At present I have an open schedule- I am not working so have full days to dedicate to your dog. I left a busy job with the NHS and am enjoying a slower pace of life, although some dog company would make it much better! I like to be outdoors, walking, exploring the local area. Coming from Ireland I am very content to walk in the wind and rain!

Safety, trust & environment
Our family home has a secured fenced in yard which will keep your dog active and safe. Dogs will be able to explore the first floor of the house and all furniture is dog ready. The waterfront is only a couple of blocks away, where there is plenty of space to exercise, if appropriate for the individual dog. If your furry friend prefers to put their paws up and relax they can do that inside the home, in the fenced yard or at the front gate watching the world go by.
A typical day
I enjoy spending time outside in all kinds of weather (I’m Irish!) so a typical day will involve a long walk or multiple short walks (depending on the preference of the dog). Giving time for the dog to explore, sniff and exercise as they please. There will also be lots of positive affirmations “who’s a good doggy” and belly rubs, with some treats thrown in also.
