I have worked with Declan for four years at an environmental center. On top of all of his other summer duties, he takes on the care of our ambassador animals. These include a bearded dragon, leopard gecko, aquatic and box turtles, snakes, hermit crabs, fish, insects, crayfish, and snails. Declan cares for each with the individualized specialized care that each requires. He also gives the same care and respect to the smaller animals as he does the larger animals. Over our four years together, Declan has improved the animal's habitat designs, quality of food and required accessories and enrichment. He enjoys his time with the animals, focusing on socialization for those that need it, and documenting health and needs. The animals always respond positively to him, especially when they are with him for group education. Declan is in tune with their needs, and respects what their behaviors are telling him when teaching. Outside of our work together, Declan has cared for dogs, cats, and his hamsters. He has studied small animal sciences and currently wildlife conservation. The diversity of his animal experiences and the quality of care that he gives to all species makes him the perfect person to trust with not just cats and dogs, but any animal loved that needs a little extra care when their people are not around. Declan is dependable, trustworthy, and equally as respectful to all humans, as he is with all animals. He is one of the very few people I would trust to care for my animals at the environmental center or in my home. Declan is a genuinely kind soul.

Declan continuously went above and beyond to provide care for the animals we were responsible for at our place of employment. Declan also goes beyond minimum expectations to an impressive degree for his own pets at home. Animal welfare is a top priority for Declan in any relevant situation which makes him an ideal candidate for someone looking for pet care.
