LOOKING FOR A LOVING TOUCH for your canine family member? I am a healthy, fit retired nurse with so much time and love to give to my canine friends. I have had dogs and cats since I was a young child. I lived on a small farm for several years where we cared for many farm animals - chickens, ducks, pigs, cows. I have adopted senior and young dogs from the SPCA. I have always been an animal lover and will care for your pet as if my own. My friends and family turn to me when they need a pet sitter and I am always happy to oblige. While I generally no longer take large dogs >50 lbs... I will consider a larger dog that is elderly and less active/strong on the leash. NOTE: - I am unable to care for your Pit Bull or Pit Bull mixed breed in my home. NOTE: AS OF MARCH24/26 ROVER IS NOW TAKING 30% OF MY BOOKING RATES- Example: If my daily rate is $55, the posted rate will read $62 (Rover takes 11% from YOU), and I will receive 38.50.

Debbie is fantastic with English Cocker Spaniel, Ruby. We've used Debbie several times now and we'll continue to send Ruby to her as long as she'll have us. Debbie takes fantastic care of Ruby and Ruby just loves her. We get daily updates with photos and Ruby goes out for walks and to the park several times a day, and gets to spend time with Debbie's chihuahua, Rio -- they get along great. Thanks again, Debbie -- we'll be sending Ruby your way again for our next vacation!
Deborah was wonderful with our dog Nessie, we had full confidence. Communication was great, and she handled Nessie's medical needs (insulin injection and medication) no problem. We would definitely book again!
Deborah was the perfect host for Figaro! We felt safe leaving Fig for 2 weeks knowing that he would be well cared for and that he would feel at home with her and her granddaughter. She send us pictures and updates daily which was much appreciated being overseas. Thank you so much Deborah, highly recommend!
Debbie is so great with our dog, Stevie. She takes her to all her favourite places, and I can tell Debbie genuinely enjoys spending time with her. We are excited to have found someone we trust with Stevie on walks and in our home.
This was our first time using rover to have someone stay at our home to care for our pets. We came back to our house after a 10 day trip to not only our pets but our home cared for. Debbie sent updates everyday and was super communicative. Will definitely be booking again in the future!

Schedule
Most of my days are pretty open, allowing plenty of time on my hands for walks and attention. I am primarily a homebody and enjoy reading, writing, baking, working out, and walking within my neighbourhood. I live in the Strathcona area, a very dog friendly neighbourhood with plenty of green space for walks and play.

Pets are a part of the family. I will treat your pet as my own, allowing access onto the sofa and bed unless you prefer this not to occur. I live in the Strathcona area, in a house with a backyard and easy access to nearby parks for walks and play.

A typical day
I love to interact with my pets and will adjust activities to suit their personality/needs. The day starts with a walk, enjoying all the sniffs and smells along the way. A nearby park allows for off leash play. My home is pet friendly and pets can make themselves comfortable. They will be showered with love and attention. Walks are provided throughout the day as needed.
