Quiet + fun pup house - work remote

A new chapter has me working from home full-time — and I’m so excited to open my home again! I’d love to care for your pup while you’re away, offering cuddles, calm vibes, and a cozy space shared with my two small resident dogs. 🐾 Meet the Crew: Iggy is my 14-year-old tripod and self-appointed commander-in-chief. He mostly keeps to his cozy corner, supervising the house and making sure playtime doesn’t get out of hand. Dolly is my 4-year-old shadow. She’s a little shy at first but warms up quickly. If your pup wants to play, she’s in — but she’s just as happy to nap nearby and match their energy. 💛 My Experience: I fostered dogs for over seven years — from tiny puppies to more sensitive or reactive rescues. That variety helped me get really good at reading dog dynamics, adjusting space, and creating a low-stress, respectful environment for everyone involved. 🏡 My Setup: Pups have free roam of the living room and kitchen (with lots of nap spots — doggy couch included!) I use baby gates and barriers to create calm zones or give dogs space when needed If I step out briefly, I can crate your pup if you prefer — or I can safely separate mine in the bedroom and give yours the run of the main space which I prefer. I rotate rest time so every pup gets solo downtime when needed — it’s always about keeping things calm and dog-centered We have a medium-large backyard (fully fenced, ), no cats or kids, and lots of cozy options for sleep and chill time. Whether your pup is a cuddlebug, a watcher, or a play-in-the-yard type, I’ll follow their lead and make sure they feel safe, seen, and cared for. The house is petite but between the yard and snuggle time it is perfect. It is the second floor unit of a duplex and I short term rent the bottom out so mostly have exclusive use to the yard. I am okay carrying any pups up the stairs up to 30 lbs to help their knees if they need a boast.

Debe was a delight! She loves her dogs and the ones she cares for! I felt totally relaxed leaving my 17 yr old Chihuahua with her. She sent me check in photos throughout the day. I highly recommend her if you are visiting the San Antonio area, she is conveniently located close to the downtown area.

Schedule

I currently work fully remote and am home all day — your dog will never be alone for long stretches. My own pups are a huge part of my life (they probably eat better than I do), and I deeply believe dogs rely on us for reassurance, love, and care. I do everything I can to live up to that, every single day. During my break from Rover, I continued fostering — over 100 puppies in the last few years. At the time, I was still going into the office, which wasn’t ideal, but it was still better than them staying at risk in the shelter. That chapter taught me so much about different temperaments, special needs, and how to create an environment where dogs feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for — even when it’s not their usual home.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety and trust are everything in my home. I don’t take guest pups on walks — my neighborhood occasionally has loose dogs, and I’d rather eliminate that risk altogether. Instead, all outdoor time happens in my fully fenced backyard, and I’m always outside supervising. Two sides of the house are historic cemetery. The other side has three small old dogs. The one is 14 and they are cute just vocal but no threat. There is a full 6’ wooden fence between. Indoors, I keep the environment clean, calm, and free of hazards to help everyone feel safe and settled. I also regularly review the Red Cross Pet First Aid app to stay up to date on emergency protocols like choking or injury. Your pup’s comfort and safety are never left to chance — they’re at the center of everything I do.

Pets

A typical day

If the weather’s bad outside, we still make the most of it indoors. I don’t have a big house, so I keep games calm and cozy — gently rolling a ball across the floor, offering a little tug-of-war if a pup’s in the mood, or tossing soft toys to spark curiosity. It’s all about keeping things low-impact but mentally engaging. I love rotating in slow feeder bowls, snuffle mats, and other enrichment tools — a little variety goes a long way in helping dogs feel focused, satisfied, and relaxed. But it’s not all about stimulation — I prioritize rest just as much. I often play classical music or Grateful Dead Radio on Alexa (yes, it’s pup-approved) to help everyone settle in and nap more deeply, especially when they’re adjusting to a new space. The environment here is calm, quiet, and spacious — it’s mostly just me during the day, and that peaceful energy really sets the tone for a safe and soothing stay.

Smaller dogs are definitely the best fit — my couch (and my lap!) only have so much space. If you don’t bring your own treats, can I offer a few of mine? My pups love frozen carrots and green beans — let me know if yours can have those too! Please let me know if your dog takes medication or has any escape-artist tendencies. I can easily use baby gates to block access to the front door or adjust the setup as needed. I’d much rather plan ahead than troubleshoot later — safety always comes first.
