About Dean S.
Communication
Safety, trust & environment
While I don’t have pets of my own, I have regularly taken care of those of others’. I’m pretty empathetic and can sense if something is up - particularly if they are moody, anxious or depressed. First day of each job, I always start with treats and let them sniff me out, then follow their lead. If they need time to adjust, I usually sit and read a book so they know I am not a threat - and wait until they start to resume their routine (eating, drinking, napping etc) before leaving. Subsequent days usually fine but some can need an extra day or two.

Chill and empathetic cat carer
Cat care experience
Taken care of cats for a fair few years now. I am pretty easygoing, good with instructions, and focus on the body language/cues of each of my charges to make sure they are both physically and psychologically OK while their family are away. Even if they tend to be shy, I give them space and let them decide what they want to do - and most importantly make sure they are eating/drinking OK during and between visits.
Reviews
Very experienced, reliable cat sitter. We booked Dean for our two kittens who can’t leave the house, and our holiday coincided with a heatwave. He made sure they were kept as cool as possible, even adapting his visit schedule to work around these demands. He provided regular updates throughout the week which was very reassuring.
Have used Dean several times. Always great care taken of our 4 cats, with regular updates and lots of cuddles for them while we’re away.
Dean was absolutely fantastic; he looked after our cat, Arthur, so well I think Arthur was annoyed when we got home because we weren't as good as Dean! He was communicative, thorough (particularly appreciated because there were some meds to administer) and sent a daily photo of one very content and happy cat sitting on his new favourite lap!
Dean was very reliable and communicative. He took good care of Kisa for us and we'll happily have him stay again.
