My husband and I love dogs - we welcome them into our home and share our whole lives (and bed!) with them. Our current dog (and three in the recent past) have all been rescues, three of them foster failures which we just couldn't give back - sadly we only have one now, we lost our two sweet old men then our wonderful therapy dog recently, and our home feels pretty empty. Our house is on two beautiful acres with a big fenced area where dogs can run on the grass, play in the leaves, sit on the deck, relax under the trees or jump into the doggy pool in summer. My husband works from home and I'm home all day too with the pups so your dog would only ever be left for very short periods. Your dog will get lots of love, exercise, play and attention and I send many photos every day of their time with us as I know you will miss them a lot! We are very flexible with pick-up and drop-off times - no need to worry about when your flight is departing or arriving, you can drop off/pick up your dog whenever is most convenient for you. Because this is a home environment and the safety and comfort of all the dogs is our top priority, we have the following house rules for our guests: - must be 100% housebroken - males must be neutered, females spayed - must not show any aggression or destructive behavior - must be up-to-date on vaccinations including Bordatella - unfortunately we are unable to take German Shepherds after an incident made my dog frightened of them. We look forward to hosting your four-legged family members! About this sitter: We love dogs like family and have a wonderful property on two acres with a great fenced yard. Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover all my life. I have volunteered at three different animal shelters and fostered many dogs. Meet my pets We have a large fish tank in our lounge and a small bird in a cage which is moved into another room if we have dogs staying that are not used to them. About my yard We have two acres in a quiet, wooded area set down from the road with views to our large pond. We have an awesome 1/4 acre fenced yard directly off the house with a large grassy area for dogs to run, lots of trees and leaves for them to sniff and play in, a doggy pool in the summer and lots of shade. The fence is not high enough for dogs inclined to jump over and owners must be 100% sure their pup would not want to, or those wanting to dig underneath so only those comfortable to stay within the fence will enjoy a stay here (we cannot take dogs that need to go on leash as we need both hands free to carry out our smaller guys). My experience administering medication Oral medication is fine. Have experience in diabetes injections but this would be on a case-by-case basis.
