Pet care experience

Your pups are family. Dog trainer

I am a certified dog trainer. I am also certified in pet CPR. I am a dog walker/sitter. I do have my own dog, 1 cat, and a 17-year-old daughter, so your dog must be friendly with all pets to stay in my home. My home is smoke-free. I offer a 6 ft privacy fenced-in yard, a happy environment, and lots of love. Some free training most of the time. I will walk the dogs once per day upon request. Weather permitting. I also have supervised playtime in the yard (lots). The dogs are never in the yard unsupervised. I am home for most of the day minus the 2-3 hours of dog walking I have to do in the afternoon. My neighborhood is an older one but it is still a nice family-friendly neighborhood. I have lots of regular clients so booking early is a must! Especially on holidays. About this sitter: I am a local certified dog trainer. I have been a dog lover for life and a trainer for 15 years, I became certified through the Animal Behavior College 15 years ago. Now I am a full-time, pet sitter, trainer, and in-home boarder. I am insured. I am Certified in Pet CPR as well. Why I love dog sitting I have had dogs all my life and I just love training and spending time with them. I have volunteered for several rescues to help train dogs for their forever home. I also worked in a veterinary clinic for a few years as a vet assistant. I love animals! Meet my pets I have recently inherited a 14-year-old Bichon Shih Tzu named Teddy. 1 cat. My Shepherd passed in January. He's friendly and has already met several of my other dog clients. My cat knows how to act around strange dogs. About my yard I have a decent-sized fenced (privacy fence) in the backyard for the dogs to run and play. The dogs are never left in the yard unsupervised. My experience administering medication Very experienced. I have done this several times as a pet owner, pet sitter, and veterinary assistant. I've given insulin to several cats and dogs.

Dawn promptly notified us when another dog injured our dog. She kept the dogs separated and took care of all our dog’s needs including taking him to the vet. Thankful to have a trusted care giver for our fur kid.

Safety, trust & environment

I have one dog that lives here and a cat. The cat knows how to take care of herself around the dogs. She's had years of practice. I stay active with the dogs during the day, They all get fed at the same time of day. We go to play out as much as the weather allows us to. I do prefer crate training while I'm not home. This is only for the safety of your dogs and mine. They don't need to sleep in their crates unless the owner suggests it.

Pets

A typical day

I live in a nice older neighborhood where I can walk them, and I am also close to Hines Dr parks. We have playtime as much as possible. Your dog's sleeping arrangement You can bring the dogs bedding and they can sleep in whatever room is most comfortable for them. If they normally sleep on their own bed on the floor then that's where they sleep. Crate training is preferred but only used when I leave the house. Isn't a must. I prefer it for safety reasons if I'm gone. They can sleep in my room. The time I'll spend with your dog I am home most of the day and in the evening. I work 2-3 hours in the afternoon dog walking. They will get all the exercise, love, and affection they need. We'll play fetch in the yard. I like to do training sometimes just for fun as well.

Spayed and neutered dogs only

Dawn can host up to 5 pets per night
Your dogs must be clean (no one wants to cuddle with a smelly dog), spayed or neutered, house trained, no obsessive chewers. They should be on some sort of flea and tick preventative. Will need to be friendly to dogs and cats. No breed preference. Of course, they must be fully vaccinated. Crate trained is preferred but not a must. -Let me know of any allergies, please! - Copy of shot records w/Bordetella - Daily routine including eating schedule - Dog's likes and dislikes - Do you crate them when you're not home? - What commands do they know? - What habits does your dog have (IE: chewing, anxiety, chase cats)?
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
