I am a married, full time teacher and mom of two boys and a dog rescue. I love all dogs and have been dog sitting family and friends dogs for over 8 years. I figured... Why not extend my dog sitting experience to you? Did I mention I am off during the summer and holidays? Yup! I am one of the lucky ones. We all love to take a vacation or run into a bind at times and struggle to sometimes find care for our fur babies. I am not fond of kennels as oftentimes, I feel, loved ones are left in cages the entire time one is gone and are paid very little attention. Recently, I was in a bind and had to go out of town. All of my family members and friends could not care for Pip on such short notice. I did NOT want to put him in a kennel, so, I reached out further to friends on Facebook to see if they could care for him. This is where a friend referred rover.com to me. I was amazed at all of the local dog sitters who promised to take great care of my dog. I went on a few meet and greets and I instantly fell in love with the service. This allowed me to pick the best care for my dog, so I figured, why not pay it forward to someone else in need. If you are planning that special vacation, going out of town for a weekend or run into an unexpected bind, here is where I can come to your rescue to help you with your fur baby. I believe our dogs are family members too and I promise to take the best care of your loved one(s) the same way I would treat my own. I am a dog lover and have had several as a child and adult. My husband and I rescued our boy, Pip, who is a lab/pointer (we think), 8 years ago. My husband and I fell in love with him instantly. We like to say he chose us or "rescued" us. He is our fun loving, energetic, yet gentle boy. Pip gets along with everyone, if not, almost everyone. He loves other dogs and children of all ages. He is not aggressive by any means. I have been dog sitting for over 8 years now. Whether it is family going out of town for a weekend or an extended vacation or just an overnight, I have been dog sitting dogs of all ages and sizes. Let me host your pup! **Please note, as of Aug. 21st, 2016 we will be moving to Shorewood IL. Into a house with a fenced in backyard and dog run as well as several walking trails nearby and a large dog park too.**

Dawn was fantastic! We were a little nervous as this was our first Rover, but she made us feel at ease and took great care of our old pup :)
Dawn took great care of our 2 dogs and we got lots of pictures and updates while on vacation. She went above and beyond to take care of the special requests we had for our dogs and Iwould recommend her to anyone. I would absolutely want her to watch my dogs in the future, thank you Dawn!
Dawn’s care was excellent for Polly. She carefully introduced her to the other residents and sent thoughtful pictures. Will definitely use again.

Takes great care of our boys
Dawn and her family were amazing! It was our first time leaving our two big dogs anywhere, and we couldn't have made a better choice. Our golden retriever was living his best life there, but my pyrenes mix had some anxiety, and wouldn't eat. Dawn was in contact with me the whole time so we could come up with ideas for toppings (rotissierie chicken turned out to be the winner) in her dish to encourage her to eat. I missed my pups, but I knew they were in good hands, and I will definitely schedule with Dawn on our next trip! You can't go wrong if you book with Dawn!!!!

A typical day
I do not have a fenced in yard but please don't let that be your decision not to choose us. My family and I love to go on several walks, our walking trail is just steps away! We also like to visit our local dog parks, but its okay if your dog(s) doesn't. We also have tons of tug ropes and balls to play fetch in the house or outside on the leash. I promise your pup(s) Will be in great hands with excellent care! My boys, Pip and I love to play all day! Also, I start back teaching in late August and usually go on summer vacation before Memorial Day weekend. I am also off most holidays and my husband is also off every Friday. Weekends are almost always available for us as well. Please understand that I am able to host your fur baby and will do our normal morning walks in the morning but just know most of his/her excercise and playtime will be done after 3 when I return from work.
