cheerful & gentle pet sitter
During the covid pandemic, I raised and trained my 8-week old little corgi into a loving and sweet ball of energy. Though he still has his difficult moments, I use gentle and positive reinforcement to teach him how to communicate his needs and navigate overstimulating situations. I have had the pleasure of sitting friends' dogs of all sizes and energy levels, from sleepy pugs to energetic border collies. It's always a pleasure to spend time bonding with my loved ones' loved ones. On Rover I have cared for elderly dogs and reactive dogs, or dogs that require closer supervision for any number of reasons. I always enjoy getting to know a new pup and learning their personality and quirks, and just having fun together! In the past, I have volunteered at animal shelters, working with cats ranging from tiny kittens to senior cats with chronic health conditions. One of the most important skills I learned was how to approach fearful and defensive animals, and help them feel safe and cared for. It was a very rewarding experience to watch an anxious and terrified pet transform into a loving snuggle bud.

I am happy to tailor my care to your pet's needs. My schedule affords me a lot of flexibility and I've had to adapt my pet care routine based on my dog's changing needs as he grew. Just give me instructions and I'll follow your lead!

Dawn was wonderful with our (very excitable) dog. She is kind, attentive, and always dependable.
Dawn was absolutely fantastic! Heidi was very well taken care of while we were away. Dawn maintained Heidi’s schedule and even took our lil pup on some long walks to explore new places. Also, she was incredibly respectful of our apartment, caring for it like it was her own place. We cannot recommend Dawn enough and will definitely look into working with her again in the future.
Dawn stepped in to walk my pup when I needed her! Korra has a great time with her and Dawn is always caring and reliable :)

Schedule
I work remotely, so outside of my usual meetings I am quite flexible and can fit walks in whenever. on weekends I generally try to do a bigger outdoor adventure and can easily make that a pet friendly one!

- Please let me know if you dog has any medical needs or dietary restrictions (medications, allergies, sensitivities, etc.). Please also be transparent about any behavioral issues/quirks (reactivity towards other dogs, on leash only, etc.) and any strategies you use to navigate it. I also like to know your pet's typical daily routine (when and how long do they normally walk, when and how much are they fed each meal) as well as any useful commands they might know (how is their recall?). Aside from that, any special notes or comments that you would like to share about your furry friend are greatly appreciated!
