Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up on a farm, where caring for animals wasn’t just a responsibility, it was a way of life. Over the years, I’ve also shared my home with beloved dogs and cats of my own, giving me a deep understanding of the love, patience, and consistency they need to feel safe and happy. I know that every pet has their own personality, routine, and comfort level, and I take the time to understand the animals, emotional, and physical needs and adapt accordingly. As an experienced Airbnb host, I understand the importance of respecting your home as carefully as I care for your pets. Whether your companion needs energetic walks, gentle companionship, playtime, or quiet cuddles, I tailor my care to their individual needs. I am comfortable administering medications as directed, monitoring your pet for any changes in health or behaviour, providing wound care, and skilfully and confidently following veterinary instructions after appointments or treatments. My goal is simple: to ensure you return home to happy, healthy pets and a home that has been cared for with the same attention and respect I bestowed on my Short term rental property. I have the experience and expertise to handle any event that occurs in a capable calm manner.

Safety, trust & environment
Pets are best served by being in their own space where they are familiar and comfortable. Walks are provided that are adventurous or calm, depending on the needs of my current walking companion. Attention to detail will be provided in their maintenance feeding routine and healthcare guidelines provided by their owner and or veterinarian. I am skilled at administering medication and providing wound care.

I found Dawn through a recommendation from a dog owner on Facebook and she seemed to check all the boxes so we hired her for a weekend that we would be out of town. At 1:30 in the morning the whole town of Summerland was evacuated including Dawn, who was staying at our house with the dogs. She went over and above what she had signed up for getting the dog beds, their food and medication and headed to the evacuation centre in Penticton. She then stood in line for 17 hours moving her and the dogs bit by bit until she finally got registered. At this time we were in contact with her and the only way that we could get our dogs was too take a very long detour to Osoyoos ,where she agreed to meet us. My husband and I would have no hesitation having Dawn dogs sit our dogs again as she kept them safe and happy in a dire emergency.
We absolutely love our dog walker! She walks our two half-Beagle, half-King Charles Spaniels, who are definitely not the easiest dogs to walk. They can be stubborn, energetic, and a little…challenging on leash, but she handles them with so much patience, care, and confidence. She goes above and beyond every single time and genuinely cares about our dogs. We always feel completely comfortable knowing they’re in her hands. She’s reliable, thoughtful, and clearly has a real love for animals. We honestly couldn’t ask for a better dog walker and would recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will treat their pets like their own! ❤️
An absolutely wonderful dog sitter! Dawn is caring, attentive, responsible, and clearly goes above and beyond to make sure the dogs in her care are safe, happy, and comfortable. Dawn handled an unexpected stressful situation with such calmness and dedication, and it was clear how much she genuinely cared. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can completely trust with their dogs!
I have known Dawn for many years. She is a kind compassionate woman. She has great love for all animals. I feel her dogs that she walks will all enjoy their time with her.

Schedule
This is my retirement job and I’m so excited about it. It is in my nature to nurture animals homes, and of course, my kids and grandkids. I am a positive influence and addition in any role that I take on. This is also an opportunity for me to be active and connected, which is very important to me.
