I work from home 2 days a week and my husband Gary has his days off in the week so between us we are home most of the time. We have a lovely big fenced garden for toilet needs first thing and then fit in walks during the day/evening depending on what the weather is like so for example if it’s very hot we leave the walk until later in the day when it has cooled down

We like to go to the woods and our local recreation ground is also fantastic as has lots of adjacent fields you can walk in. We like to play fetch and tug and football

I’ve had dogs since childhood from Chihuahuas, Cavaliers, German Shepards and currently our Dogs Trust boy Simba who is a husky/german Shepard cross. To us a house is not a home without a dog and they are family members. I worked in a dog and cat hospital for over 2 years so have additional knowledge and know what to look out for medically and can issue medication. Whilst there I used to give weekend foster care to a paraplegic daschound for the weekend and also an epileptic cavalier who had fits where I administered medication. Simba is just turned 2 so we have just done the puppy years and he also has seperation anxiety so there is almost always someone home whilst we work on this. He loves to have a friend to play with. Both my husband Gary and myself have had and looked after lots of doggies providing a safe and loved environment. We have also previously provided ay care to a doggy for over a year but his owner unfortunately became poorly so was able to stay home with him and we kept up regular visits
Reviews
Dawn and her husband looked after our two year old Viszla for almost 2 weeks. This is the longest we have ever left our nervous and clingy dog and she had the best time. She was pleased to see us but not running to get away as she has done at previous sitters. You could tell she was happy in their home which means a lot. We received regular updates but not over load. Bella also unfortunately had picked up an eye infection and ear just before we dropped her off and this wasn’t a problem for Dawn at all to give her the cream and spray she needed. Dawns own dog Simba is lovely and was happy to play and share with Bella. It wasn’t a problem for Dawn to meet us before hand for a walk to see that the dogs got on. I would recommend Dawns sitting service to anyone and we will definitely be using again when needed. I think some people provide a place for dogs to be safe and others provide a loving home and this is what we felt Bella received.
Dawn and her family took Ziggy in last minute - and treated her like their own. I couldn't ask for more than that :-)
Dawn and her family were fantastic with Odin our German Shepherd. Both times we knew he was in good hands and could relax knowing how well he was being looked after. Odin has stayed with Dawn twice now and he’ll be looking forward to his next stay.
I work with Dawn for a few years at an animal Hospital it was an absolute pleasure to work with Dawn. Dawn was fantastic with the animals in the hospital with Cats and Dogs, caring, kind, and considerate to their needs. Dawn has a great understanding of dogs and their needs, how to care for them and look after them.
