If Dr. Doolittle Was a Real Person

I grew up working in my father's animal hospital. From the age of 7, I was cleaning cages, until I gradually began assisting him in office calls and surgeries by the time I was in high school. When the practice was sold, I was in charge of all the weekend borders. It was my responsibility to make sure they were fed, walked, and medicated if required. Growing up, we always had a family dog so I have some experience house training puppies, as well as teaching them basic commands such as 'sit', 'stay' 'shake'. I can also break them of the bad habits of jumping and that playful biting puppies do. Growing up around animals has allowed me to bond with them quickly. Plus it doesn't hurt to have a Vet on call if you have a question. As you see from the uploaded photo gallery, I not only take pictures of the pups having fun on the walk but I also send updates, when the dogs use the bathroom and if there is anything out of character; such as, if they have gone to the bathroom more than normal, or it was a loose stool.

Many thanks for taking care of Lito over the Christmas holiday. I absolutely appreciate all the photos and videos taken and sent over during your visits. I know Lito will look forward to you sitting for him again. (Look for bookings in the next few weeks for early February and mid-March.) Thanks again!

My cat and I had a really great experience with David, who is friendly and was really great with my pet. My cat was fast friends with David which I’m sure was because of all the attention he got during the daily visit, and I appreciated all the pictures and videos that David took during his visits. I would highly recommend David.

To whom it may concern. I would like to write this endorsement for David Young because he has extensive experience working in my animal hospital. He has experience in basic care and husbandry and genuinely enjoys working with animals I'm sure that you will find him a devoted and competent caregiver.

Dog Walking • Oct 27, 2020

Hola my fellow dog & cat parents! I am Davids’ first client and it was such a pleasure working with someone who communicates consistently and is extremely professional. He was punctual (although I booked him super last minute) and kept my constantly updated via text, call, FaceTime, photos, and videos! He reassured me everything will be okay especially with his years and experience with animals (and it helps that his father is a veterinarian!) I recommend him if you have a service animal as he followed my instructions which resulted with him having a smooth visit with my baby Foxy Roxy the Rottweiler. David was a pleasure to work with and I will be working with him in the future. ¡Muchas gracias David for everything you have done, I truly appreciate it!

David is the biggest dog lover and the dogs love him too! He is sweet and funny and would make your animals very happy while you’re away. He always goes above and beyond and will make sure your animals are well taken care of and get lots of play time/walks!

You would be lucky to have David as your dog walker or cat sitter. Besides his love for animals, he has years of experience working at his fathers veterinary practice. If you put your pet in David’s care you will be reassured that your pet will be safe, happy and content.

Safety, trust & environment

Currently, I am not doing in-home boarding. However, my fiance and I both are considering adding this service to our clients in the near future. My fiance is also a verified Rover walker and sitter, which makes the boarding experience not only as safe a possible but a spa-like retreat. We live in a neighborhood with countless parks and paths for walking and our house has a closed in the back yard. If your pup likes to sleep on their own doggie bed that is welcomed but if they want to curl up between us as well that is also fine!

A typical day

Besides going on their walk they will have fun exploring new places, playing fetch, and learning new tricks! A dog is never too old to learn a new trick!

The dogs daily routine. Times of walks, feeding schedule, medications, if the dog get along with other animals or happens to go crazy when they happen to see a squirrel, bird, or lizard. Do and do not's for the dog are very important. If the owner would like pictures taken? Most importantly if there is anything the owner does or does not want done.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
