Update for 2025: After 2 years of being off of the Rover app, I am now back on and accepting new clients. At the beginning of 2023, my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I decided to stop accepting new clientele and roll with the ones who I had established a working relationship with to spend more time at my parent's helping out. In Septemeber of 2024, my mom was moved into a memory care facility. I spent the last part of 2024 helping my dad with the house and prepping him for life alone there. Now that I have all of life's ducks in a row, I'm ready to begin taking on new clients and picking up on my business where I left it 2 years ago. I'm looking forward to meeting new animals and people! Update for 2022: I have plenty of references from clients that I've met from outside of Rover. I'll be happy to provide additional testimony upon request! Hello everybody! I'm David and am looking to help you provide the best care for your animals. I recently lost my Labrador(in pic) to cancer at 8.5 years old. Although his death has made life a struggle as of late, I take pride in knowing that he brought joy to everybody he came across. From my neighbors, to the vet, to the workers at NCSU Oncology who tried to help him beat his battle...they all loved him. He was a wonderful dog, more than I could have ever hoped for, and I do take pride in raising and training such a well-behaved dog. I attempted to join Rover before but couldn't figure it out. Since Hank has been gone, it's been kind of lonely and I would like to get onto Rover to help people care for their animals, make a little bit extra cash, and fill the void that has been left behind since September 5, 2019. We had dogs when I was growing up(2 Labradors, a golden, and a Finnish Lapphund) that I was responsible for training and walking/exercising. I'm very good with all animals. My parent's still have some dogs(older Dachshund and older Labrador mix) that I help take care of. When my brother goes out of town, I stay at his house and take care of his 3 dogs(Labrador mix, Labrador/Pyrenees mix, and a Beagle) as well as the farm animals. Animals are my thing. I understand how they are and if I don't completely understand, my patience allows me to get to the point that I do. I am more than happy to "meet and greet" with you and your animal(s) for any service you are requesting. I look forward to helping you take care of your special pets in whatever way that I can. Thank you for your consideration!

I wanted to share how absolutely fantastic David was when he looked after our dogs during our recent vacation. Seriously, he was a true lifesaver! Leaving our furry family members always makes us a little nervous, but with David on the job, we didn't have a single worry. He's incredibly professional, super reliable, and clearly has such a loving way with animals. Knowing our dogs were in such capable and caring hands allowed us to genuinely relax and enjoy our trip, which is a huge relief. We came home to happy, well-cared-for pups, and honestly, we couldn't have asked for more. If you're ever looking for someone trustworthy and wonderful to take care of your pets, I cannot recommend David highly enough. You absolutely won't regret it!

David is remarkable and very accommodating. He took time out of his schedule to first meet myself, wife, and Cezar. Cezar gave off good vibes and David took care of Cezar in our home. He sent daily pics, reached out when necessary and promptly answered all my questions. He left our home very tidy, so my wife was very happy upon our return! Awesome person with great character.

My schedule is flexible so I can work with just about anything that is needed. My visit times are normally: AM(6a-9a), Midday(3p-6p), PM(9p-11:30p/12:00a). It depends on needs and availability but I can usually work in anything.

Safety, trust & environment

I do whatever means necessary to care for client's pets at home. I try to keep it as close to your "normal schedule" as possible but will also break off of the beaten path.

A typical day

Depending on what the owner feels, I'd be up to taking the dog anywhere for exercise. I particularly love going to Umsted Park and always had good experiences there with my old dog. Dog parks would also be an option after discussion with the owner. If we are able to go "out and about," there's plenty I could think of. If they would be better off just staying home, then I would certainly do my best to provide the best entertainment for what I would have to work with.

Just the basics. Any stressors/issues that you would also want to know if you were in my position. Also...what are their happy words? "Outside/out/go out, treat/biscuit/cookie," etc.
