My diabetic cat is extremely skittish and excellent at hiding. David had to track her down to administer her medication everyday, which I greatly appreciate. However, we did have a couple of issues. I had to remind David to take the litter box waste to the outdoor trash, rather than storing in a trashcan next to the litter boxes. When I arrived home I found that the slow feeder I use to measure carb intake for the cats hadn't been opened for them to access the food. David thought he had forgot to open it and it had been "a couple of days". While the cats had access to other food in an autofeeder, I had told David I was concerned about ketone levels and the slow feeder should be filled daily. Both cats were healthy when I arrived home, but I was surprised to run into these issues with an experienced pet sitter.

I was disappointed with last day of a drop in. Friday morning David sent a picture that he left the key under the doormat. He admitted that we never discussed this but said earliest he could go back to get it was Saturday night or Sunday morning. 2 days. I said forget it since I’d be back late Sunday afternoon. When I returned, the front door was completely unlocked. David didn’t reply to my text notifying him.

Rachel, Dave’s partner, did a wonderful job looking after our senior special needs cat! She gave subcutaneous injections twice a day and gave us lots of pictures and updates about our sweet boy. She also accepted this job VERY last minute and we appreciate it greatly. Very friendly and professional - we will absolutely be using her as our go-to kitty sitter. ☺️

This was our first time leaving our pets for more than a weekend, and David did a great job of taking care of them and letting us know how they were doing! When we got back all our pets were happy and healthy, almost like we’d never left :)
