This is what retirement looks like for me. Not a bad way to spend my days. I enjoy the opportunity to meet new people and hang out with awesome dogs.

I am very empathetic to pets who might feel anxious being away from their family. I spend lots of time interacting with them and making them feel special. I talk to dogs A LOT. I think it helps them feel comfortable and calm just to hear a friendly tone of voice - maybe I just like hearing myself talk. :-)

Information David O. would like to know about your pet
I know how important consistency is for dogs. If your dog has any routines, boundaries, or training you’re reinforcing at home, just let me know. I’m happy to support those habits so your dog’s stay feels familiar and stress-free.
A typical day
Mornings start when the dogs are ready, which means wake-ups, breakfast, and tail wags all around. After feeding, I make my coffee and we head out for a neighborhood walk if it isn't too hot. Once we’re back home, the dogs settle in and enjoy the day at their own pace. Some like to lounge, some want snuggles, and some are ready to play. If your dog loves activity, my energetic two-year-old Lab is always happy to play and burn off energy — especially in our large, fully fenced backyard. If your dog is more mellow, they’ll get plenty of attention, affection, and space to relax. Throughout the day, dogs are treated like family — never ignored, never rushed, and always supervised. Whether your dog wants exercise, relaxation, or just someone nearby, they’ll feel safe, cared for, and at home here.

Pet care experience
I've been around dogs my whole life. I've helped rescue, rehabilitate, and find homes for abandoned dogs. I've trained working retrievers and rescue dogs. Our family has worked with the Desert Labrador Retriever Rescue group to adopt our last three dogs. I strive to provide a safe, social and enriching environment for the pets in my care and top-tier service and communication for their parents.
Reviews

David was amazing with Waffle! He sent lots of photos and updates throughout the day, which gave me so much peace of mind. He’s incredibly communicative and trustworthy, and Waffle had the best time. I highly recommend him and plan to take Waff more often to daycare at David’s.

David was a wonderful host to our sweet Goldendoodle puppy. He sent multiple pictures and updates each day which really reassured us. I will definitely use him again in the future! Thanks again 😊

I am so grateful I found David to care for my puppy. From my experience, not all dog caregivers are created equal, and David truly stands out. He has a genuine love and appreciation for dogs that is evident in everything he does. He is knowledgeable, communicative, kind, and has such a calm, reassuring demeanor. That has been invaluable for my energetic, exuberant puppy and has given me complete peace of mind knowing he's in exceptional hands. His home and backyard are absolutely beautiful and feel more like a doggie retreat than a doggie daycare. My puppy comes home happy, well-exercised, and clearly having had the best time. I genuinely look forward to hearing about his day and seeing the incredible action photos David captures—they're honestly frame-worthy! It's obvious that David takes the time to get to know each dog and truly enjoys what he does. Finding someone you trust with your dog is priceless, and I couldn't have asked for a better caregiver. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found David, and I recommend him without hesitation!!!

Bernie had a great time during her first visit. Dave sent pictures and kept me updated throughout the day. Great yard, great caregiver!
