Dave's Dog Walking and Boarding
Originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland. I emigrated to Canada in 2020. After spending a few years in Toronto, I moved to Halifax in February 2025. If you take your dog(s) to Point Pleasant Park, there's a good chance that you have bumped into me and my little black Patterdale Terrier (Calvin) already! I've been around and looked after dogs most of my life. Growing up, I had a Border Collie and looked after my uncle's German Shepherd, and whenever we go home to my in-laws' house, I love spending time with their huge Golden Retriever.

Lana can be a reactive handful, but she had lots of fun with David and Calvin. We appreciate David looking after her and Calvin playing with her!
Second time to book david and calvin for kopi. Again, kopi had a wonderful stay with them. Highly recommended and will definitely book again!

David is an awesome person. From dropping off Mojo till picking him up we were had a pleasant interaction. Mojo seemed very happy the whole time he spent with them. Constant updates and pictures about Mojo kept us at ease and confident that Mojo is in good hands. Definitely will be prefering David's boarding for Mojo in the future too.

Schedule
Calvin and I are enjoying exploring Halifax and the surrounding areas. Calvin is very friendly and loves the company of other dogs. I offer dog boarding and daycare services. I have a seasonal job (April to December) where I work from home. There is a degree of flexibility with my job, so I can nip out with the dogs for frequent potty breaks if necessary, and can take them out in the car to somewhere they can run around and get some exercise before and after work, (if your dog has poor recall, I have an extra long training leash). During the winter months, I will be available for dog walking services in addition to boarding and daycare.

Safety, trust & environment
When staying with us, be it for boarding or daycare, rest assured, your dog will be well looked after. There will be a good walk each morning and early evening. During the day, there will be lots of playtime, cuddles, physical and mental stimulation (and potty breaks if necessary). I am not a professional dog trainer, but I do enjoy the training process. If there is something that you are working on with your dog at home, let me know about it (what your goal is, what command/signals you use), and I will try to continue the training during the stay. Do not be surprised if your dog needs a good snooze after leaving our care! Lol.

A typical day
Along with physical exercise, mental stimulation is also important for dogs. When staying with us your dog will have lots of time to play with Calvin. We have a variety of toys, food puzzles, snuffle mats etc. We also sometimes have a "treasure hunt" where we hide treats or toys around the apartment.
