Pet care experience
Cat Dad
Special skill = taking pictures of your cat, have serious discussions with it about world events, letting it run the house, letting it sit wherever it wants. My perfect little cat Muncie took her leave at 17+, and while I can't commit to a new companion or foster, I would LOVE to host yours at my house, stay at your place, visit, and text you as many pictures as you need (she had quite a social media presence). Experience taking care of senior cats as well - liquids, pills, shots (though not CKD fluids). I can house sit in Northwest DC west of Rock Creek Park, and locations along the Red Line. I try to update my calendar regularly, if you book me well in advance I can do longer stays! My schedule is pretty flexible. A week's notice is ideal so I can plan to work from home a little more, but don't hesitate to ask if it's shorter notice.
Qualifications
Ratings and reviews
I really couldn't have asked for a better caregiver for my cat Boomer. David came over for a meet and greet before I dropped my cat off, just to get to know him. He suggested a new type of cat food that might work well for my cat. He provided litter, ordered toys (in addition to the toys I brought), sent me quality updates, and he dropped my cat off when my flight was delayed coming back. And Boomer was very calm and happy when I got back!

Your pet could not be in better hands! Dave is a devoted animal caretaker and is detail-oriented and trustworthy. He will give your pet all the attention it needs to thrive while you're away. Bonus: Dave can handle administering pet meds, along with the basic feeding, cleaning & playing.

Schedule
I'm a lawyer and work from home twice a week. Your cat will have the run of the house. On in-office days I'm gone from 9-5 (always Tuesdays, and otherwise I'm flexible). I can generally plan around your cat’s needs!
Where your pet will stay
Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
Smoke-free household, no other pets, door opens to an interior hallway so no chance of escape. Minimal breakable items if your kitty tends to be a little fiesty. Furniture in the house is pre-scratched, no harm to be done! House cleaned biweekly with pet-friendly products, all plants in house safe.
A typical day
I'll play with them, brush them, take them on walks in my interior hallway, watch TV, they can sleep on me, whatever they want. The cat calls the shots.
