Availability
We're retired, but maintain busy schedules. However, one of us is almost always at home. For years, our schedule has been built around taking care of our dog or guest dogs.

Safety, trust & environment
We live in a two-story townhome - typical of downtown Savannah - we are very conscious of "escape artists" and take care to ensure that they are leashed before the door is opened.

Information David J. would like to know about your pet
Please let us know about any special requirements or behavior issues. For example, how does your pet react to thunder, fireworks, cats, doorbells, or other noises that would help us to make our four-legged guest comfortable?
A typical day
We have a basket of dog toys and enjoy lap time, as well. We walk in the neighborhood a couple of times a day. At 5:00 pm, we head to Forsyth Park to meet up with a group of regulars that we helped found more than 10 years ago, where dogs and people can socialize and get pats (usually just the dogs) from out-of-town guests.

Pet care experience
We are both retired, and like to keep busy with our favorite activities, one of which is taking care of dogs. We recently lost our beloved Maxx, a large Yorkshire Terrier, and are returning to dog sitting after a pause. We are well known in our neighborhood as people who love dogs and love to take care of "guest" dogs. So owners have peace of mind while they are away from their beloved 4-legged family members. We live two blocks west of Forsyth Park, where we take guest dogs for their daily exercise and hang out with the local dog regulars at the fountain. Guests go out at least three times a day or whatever their schedule requires. We are experienced in caring for senior dogs or dogs with special needs. Our guests are treated like family and may sit on our laps and sleep with us, if you approve. We can only accommodate dogs less than 40 pounds and only up to 20 pounds if they must be carried up/down steps. We usually accept only one dog at a time, but we may occasionally overlap stays by a day or two, for dogs we know. However, dog couples/pairs with the same owner are welcome with a discounted fee for a second dog. Because the number of bookings is set for two dogs, we may show as "Available" when we're not, because we already have one booking. Two-night minimum stay.
Reviews

David and Julie are exceptional pet-sitters! David communicated frequently and sent updates and photos to reassure me that Bella was in great hands. Bella looked wonderful when I picked her up! I look forward to scheduling with David again!!

David is great! Sculley gets to do so many things when he visits. I always know Sculley is being well cared for.

He did an amazing job taking care of Teddy! I really appreciated his updates and he was flexible when I picked him up.

David and his wife, Julie, were incredible. I loved the daily photo updates, that they'd take Emilio to make friends at Forsyth, and their overall kindness as human beings. I'm so grateful for their flexibility when my flight got delayed nearly 6 hours as well. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
