Information David H. would like to know about your pet

I'm happy to administer any medications, give your dog a bath, or help train, if needed! My rescue dog was very anxious, but she has mellowed out quite well.

A typical day

I love taking my pup to the nearby park/trails. We often play in the backyard with her toys and inside when it's rainy/wet outside. I have a really cool dog puzzle that my pup really enjoys.

Pet care experience

Hi! I'm David. I grew up in Michigan surrounded by dogs and farm animals. Labrador Retrievers were the family favorite, however, I rescued a Basset Hound Mix during the pandemic. One of my college jobs was working at a doggy daycare center. I was quickly promoted to manager and ended up rolling out a marketing plan for the business. It was a blast! I live in Metro Detroit (Oak Park) and am currently "funemployed" which means I have all the time in the world to take care of your furry companions! I take pride in my ability to be patient, gentle, responsible, and fun with all kinds of dogs, sizes, and ages. I have vast and diverse experience taking care of animals including dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys, horses, and birds. During college, I volunteered at various humane societies and frequently dog sat for friends and relatives. I was also instrumental in co-training a Golden Retriever to be a service dog. That was a highly rewarding experience. My approach to dog care is to start with the owner and get to know the dog through their eyes. I then channel that love and devotion to esteemed care, ensuring that walks are done frequently, food is out at a responsible time, and that enough attention is spent with the dog. I'm an outdoors guy and walk whenever I get the chance, so rest assured that your dog will get a healthy amount of outside time. If you've made it this far and like what you've read, let's schedule a meet-and-greet!

David took great care of our two dogs overnight. They came home tired and chill, which for Luna is a special feat. They seemed so happy. He updated us on how they were doing with photos and videos. Very much recommend!

David couldn’t have been a better sitter for our two crazy boys! He was patient, listened to every single detail we threw at him and checked in with us often to reassure us. Our vacation was able to be dog worry free because of him and that’s a great feeling!

David was absolutely wonderful. He took the time to meet with me ahead of time and really listened as I described my dog’s demeanor and personality. He asked great questions in order to be prepared for her stay with him. He provided photos and videos during my dog’s stay and went above and beyond to make her feel at home. Highly recommend David!
