Pet care experience

A loving home while you’re away :)

I only take one pet at a time, so as to give everyone the care and attention they deserve. My dog, Ela, loves a playmate and is a pack animal at heart. She’s good at sharing toys and her bed, but draws the line at her bowl (so eating will take place separately).

David took such good care of Auggie! Auggie is usually a very shy dog, but he warmed up to David and Ela immediately and didn’t even want to leave. It’s apparent that David cares about pets immensely. Highly recommend!

David took incredible care of our cavapoo Rory! His dog Ela is so sweet and Rory was very sad to leave. We received tons of videos and photos over the weekend, David is clearly a loving caretaker of animals and we wouldn’t hesitate to have him watch Rory again!

Schedule

I work from home and generally work late - so I prefer to spend my weeknights at home. Most weekends I’m out in the evenings on Friday and Saturday (but not more than 4hrs) - those are the only real times I’m not home. We maintain an active lifestyle and go on at least two walks per day (~5 miles), which may be challenging for older pets.

Safety, trust & environment

I’m a firm believer in leading with trust when it comes to pet-parenting. So I’ve “pet proofed” my home so that my dog, Ela, and others feel as at-ease, comfortable, and cozy as possible. Pets are treated like humans around here at all times other than meal time and potty time! I can accommodate crating needs, but prefer to watch animals that can be trusted out as Ela is given free-range. The park directly across the street is Ela’s de-facto “front yard”. She does well off-leash. But I generally don’t let other animals off unless I’m given explicit assurance as the park isn’t fenced and there is a one-way street nearby. We go to Wicker Bark (gated) most days as well.
